✪ 명사를 수식하는 분사
① 분사만 있을 때 → 명사의 앞에서 수식
ⓐ Look at the girl. + She is singing.
→ Look at the girl who is singing.
(관계대명사 주격+be동사 생략가능)
→ Look at the singing girl. (능동, 진행) 노래 부르고 있는 그 소녀를 봐봐.
ⓑ Be careful of the bottle. + It is broken.
→ Be careful of the bottle which is broken.
→ Be careful of the broken bottle. (수동, 완료) 깨진 병을 조심해라.
② 2단어 이상일 때 → 명사의 뒤에서 수식
ⓐ My cousin is the boy. + He is sitting on the bench.
→ My cousin is the boy who is sitting on the bench.
→ My cousin is the boy sitting on the bench.
내 사촌은 벤치에 앉아있는 그 소년이다.
ⓑ It was the letter. + It was written in English.
→ It was the letter which was written in English.
→ It was the letter written in English.
그것은 영어로 쓰인 편지였다.
목적격보어로 to부정사만을 취하는 동사
ask 요청v, advise 충고v, get, order, tell 명령v, allow 허락v, cause 야기v, compel 강요v, enable 가능케v, encourage 격려v, force 강제v, permit 허락v, persuade 설득v, remind 상기v, hope ✖
+ 목적어 + to do
Remind Daddy to take his glasses tomorrow.
아빠에게 내일 그의 안경을 가져가시라고 상기시켜드려.
He asked me to help his homework.
그는 내가 그의 숙제를 도와주기를 요청했다.
The doctor advised her to exercise regularly.
그 의사는 그녀에게 규칙적으로 운동할 것을 충고했다.
Mr. Kim got us to clean the classroom.
김 선생님은 우리가 교실을 치우도록 시켰다.

① 흔들리다 (자동사+목적어✖)
The whole house shakes. 온 집이 흔들린다.
② 흔들다 (타동사+목적어○)
She shook her head. 그녀는 머리를 흔들었다.
stop은 동명사만을 목적어로
① He stopped (walking) to smoke.
그는 담배피우기 위해 (걷는 것을) 멈췄다.
② He stopped smoking.
그는 담배피우는 것을 그만뒀다.
appear
① 나타나다 (자동사→1형식)
A taxi appeared around the corner.
택시 한 대가 모퉁이에서 나타났다.
② ~인 것 같다 (자동사+주격보어→2형식) He didn’t appear surprised at the news.
그는 그 소식에 놀라는 것 같지 않았다.
