Supply of industrial location and building National Territorial & Regional Research Division carries out comprehensive and systematic research on national territory plan and policy at the national level and other policy developments to create competitive region in the era of globalization and localization at the local level. The division has com-pleted the 4th Comprehensive National Territorial Plan(2000~2020) following the successful comple-tion of the second(1982~1991) and third(1992~2001).

Regional research includes various regional economic development policies and strategies such as regional analysis, capital metropolitan management and control and industrial location. In particular, considering the intensifying trend of localization and regional competition, cooperative systems among local governments, local research institutions and experts are emphasized.

In addition, the division is in charge of developing policies that will contribute to the balanced development of national territory, and also plans long-term and comprehensive regional policy strate-gies by sharing research outcomes with other divisions.

Research fellow. Master in Public Administration, Seoul National University.

Major research works include 「A Study on Mas-ter Plan of Suwon 2025」(2006), 「A Study on the Effective Development Strategies of the Sur-rounding Region of the Daejeon-Tongyoung Expressway」(2004), 「A Study on New Industrial Location Strategy」(1998), 「A Study of Informa-tion Network for Industrial LocaInforma-tions based on GIS」(1998). He has studied on the national devel-opment plans, regional develdevel-opment plans and policies of industrial location since 1979. He has studied on the redevelopment of industrial estates adopting the industrial clusters approach in the Department of Urban Studies, the University of Glasgow, UK.
