Bear and Max
Bear was a black and brown cat with green eyes.
Bear는 녹색 눈을 가진, 검은색과 갈색이 섞인 고양이이다.
He lived with a boy, Ryan.
그는 Ryan이라는 소년과 함께 살았다.
Ryan always thought that "Bear" was a perfect name for the cat because he had a black spot in the shape of a bear.
그 고양이에게는 곰 모양의 검은 점이 있었기 때문에, Ryan는 항상 ‘Bear'가 그 고양이에게 딱 맞는 이름 이라고 생각했다.
Bear liked to go outside every morning and run after butterflies.
Bear는 매일 아침 밖으로 나가서 나비를 쫓아다니기를 좋아했다.
He always came home just in time for dinner.
그는 항상 딱 저녁 시간에 맞춰 집에 왔다.
Five blocks away, Max the cat lived with a girl, Sheila.
다섯 블록 떨어진 곳에 Max라는 고양이가 Sheila라는 소녀와 함께 살았다.
When Sheila moved to this town last month, she was lonely.
Sheila가 지난달에 이 마을로 이사 왔을 때 그녀는 외로웠다.
She had no friends there.
그녀는 그곳에 친구가 없었다.
But, after Max followed her home, he became a good friend to her.
하지만 Max가 그녀를 따라 집으로 온 후, 그는 그녀의 좋은 친구가 되었다.
One day, Sheila saw Max sitting under the desk.
하루는, Sheila가 책상 밑에 앉아 있는 Max를 보았다.

He was making a strange sound.
그는 이상한 소리를 내고 있었다.
"What's wrong?" asked Sheila.
“무슨 일이야?” Sheila가 물었다.
She looked at him closely and found a bad cut on his leg.
그녀는 그를 자세히 살펴보았고 그의 다리에서 심하게 베인 상처를 발견했다.
She took him to the animal hospital.
그녀는 그를 동물 병원으로 데려갔다.
The doctor said, "He will get better if he gets enough rest.
의사는 말했다. “그는 충분한 휴식을 취하면 나을 겁니다.
Keep him inside for a week."
일주일 동안 그를 집 안에 두세요.”
That night, at Ryan's house, there was no Bear.
그날 밤, Ryan의 집에서 Bear가 보이지 않았다.
Ryan checked outside, but he couldn't find him.
Ryan은 밖을 확인했지만 그를 찾을 수 없었다.
He made posters and put them up around town.
그는 포스터를 만들어 마을을 다니며 그것들을 붙였다.
A third night passed.
세 번째 밤이 지났다.
Still no Bear.
여전히 Bear는 나타나지 않았다.
When Sheila was walking near her house, she saw a poster about the lost cat.
Sheila가 그녀의 집 근처에서 산책하고 있었을 때, 그녀는 잃어버린 고양이에 대한 포스터를 보았다.

She read it closely, and her eyes got big.
그녀는 그것을 자세히 읽었고, 그녀의 눈은 커졌다.
"This cat looks exactly like Max.
“이 고양이는 Max와 똑같이 생겼어.
It's so strange." She hurried home.
정말 이상해.” 그녀는 서둘러 집으로 갔다.
"Come on, Max! Let's go!"
“Max야, 이리 와! 가자!”
She took him to the address on the poster.
그녀는 그를 포스터에 있는 주소로 데리고 갔다.
Missing Cat
“Name: Bear“

at 239 Maple Street
사라진 고양이
“이름: Bear"
★ 곰 모양의 검은 점을 가지고 있다
★ 나비를 쫓아다니기를 좋아한다
Maple가 239 번지의 Ryan에게 돌려주세요.
"Ding-Dong." When Ryan heard the doorbell ring, he ran to the door and opened it.
“딩동.” Ryan이 초인종이 울리는 것을 들었을 때 그는 달려가서 문을 열었다.
"Bear, you're back!" Ryan cried.
“Bear, 돌아왔구나!” Ryan이 외쳤다.
Max jumped up into Ryan's arms.
Max는 Ryan의 두 팔 안으로 뛰어올랐다.

"Let me guess," said Sheila.
“내가 맞혀 볼게.”라고 Sheila가 말했다.
"Your cat comes home only in the evenings, doesn't he?" Ryan nodded.
“너의 고양이는 저녁에만 집에 돌아오지, 그렇지?” Ryan은 고개를 끄덕였다.
"And you lost him last Friday, didn't you?" Sheila said.
“그리고 너는 그를 지난주 금요일에 잃어버렸지, 그렇지?”
"Yes! How did you know?" said Ryan.
Sheila가 말했다. “응! 어떻게 알았어?”라고 Ryan이 말했다.
"Because this is my cat, too, and he usually comes to my home only during the day."
“왜냐하면 이건 내 고양이이기도 한데, 그는 주로 낮 동안에만 우리 집에 오거든.”
"Our cat has two families!" said Ryan.
“우리 고양이에게는 두 가족이 있구나!”라고 Ryan이 말했다.
"Hey, if you have time, please come in and have some cookies."
“저기, 시간이 있으면 들어와서 쿠키를 좀 먹어.”
"Sure," said Sheila.
“좋아.”라고 Sheila가 말했다.
"Thank you, Max," she thought.
“Max, 고마워.”라고 Sheila는 생각했다.
"I met a good neighbor thanks to you!”
“나는 네 덕분에 좋은 이웃을 만났어!”
