When line features of an existing digital maps for the geometric correction of Landsat and KOMPSAT-2 images are used, we evaluate geometric accuracy under the various conditions. Experimental factors are the spatial resolution of digital elevation model and types of digital map. Reference features for geo-registration are the lines that are matched automatically to edges which is extracted from satellite images. 3 arc-second SRTM, airborne Lidar point clouds, and contours of topographic maps are compared to effects of elevation model resolution. We use land-use map, KLIS map, and topographic map as reference features. The experiments showed that elevation model resolutions affected geometric accuracy of satellite images. We will consider these result for the updating of linear features and land-use class of map.
