식사를 할 음식점을 선택할 때 고려하는 것들에 대 해 이야기해 주세요.
내가 음식점을 고를 때 가장 먼저 생각하는 것은 맛 이다. 사람마다 입맛은 다르다. 하지만 나는 인터넷 상에서 검색을 해서 후기들을 보고 음식이 맛있다 고 하는 후기들이 많으면, 주로 그곳에 가보게 된 다.
음식에 대한 후기들을 보면 각종 사진들과 메뉴가 함께 게시되어 있는 경우가 많아서, 미리 메뉴를 정 하고 가는 경우가 많다. 두 번째로 생각하는 것은 음식점의 분위기이다. 식당의 분위기는 식사를 즐 기는 데 많은 영향을 미친다.
음식의 종류에 잘 맞는 분위기의 식당을 찾아가게 된다. 요즘 음식점들은 대부분 개성을 살려 분위기 를 조성해 놓은 경우가 많다.
마지막으로, 음식점을 고를 때 생각하지 않을 수 없는 것이 가격이다. 아무리 좋은 음식점이라고 하 더라도 음식 가격이 너무 비싸면 고려 대상에서 제 외된다. 그래서 적당한 가격대의 음식점을 찾아보 는 것은 음식점을 선택할 때 고려하는 가장 기본 중 하나이다.

A: I went to that new Thai restaurant yesterday for dinner.
B: How did you like it? I didn't like it because there was too much cilantro. 고 수 ( 향 신 료 )
A: I liked it a lot! The food was was delicious, and the prices were low.
B: To each his own. I won't be going there again.
A: 나 어제 저녁 때 새로 연 그 태국 음식점에 가 봤어.
B: 어땠어? 나는 음식에 고수가 너무 많이 들어가서 별로더라.
A: 나는 아주 좋았어! 음식도 맛있었고, 가격도 저렴했어.
B: 누구든 취향은 자유니까. 난 다시는 안 갈 거야.
act as a complement to
~에 적합하게 보완하다(~와 잘 맞다)
원래 영어에 익숙한 native speaker들도 자주 하는 실 수 중 하나가 complement와 compliment를 혼동하는 것이다. 전자는 '적절한 보완', 후자는 '칭찬'을 뜻하는 단 어로 의미가 매우 다르다. 철자가 매우 비슷하니 실수하 지 않도록 조심해야 한다.
