W: Joe, this is the picture that I'm going to put on our Volunteer Club homepage.

M: Looks good. Are you in this picture too, Donna?

W: Of course.

M: Which one are you?

W: You don't know? I'll give you a clue. I had short hair then.

M: Is this you in the baseball cap?

W: No.

M: Well, give me another clue.

W: OK. I'm not the one leaning against the tree.

M: Maybe you're the one wearing glasses?

W: Oh, Joe, you still don't recognize me?

M: Ah, now I remember that shirt of yours with the cat on it. You look so different with short hair.

M: I'm glad you brought me here to this national park. This view is fantastic.

W: Yeah. We're lucky because the weather is so nice.

M: Look down there. See those cars? They look like ants.

W: Yeah, and those farm houses in the distance. They look so small from up here.

M: What farm houses? Where?

W: Over there. Where the river disappears behind that hill.

M: Oh, yeah. I see them now.

W: What do you say we eat lunch up here?

M: Good idea. I'm ready hungry after climbing for two hours.

W: Me, too!

W: What should we do this weekend? And don't suggest going to a baseball game.

M: I thought you loved baseball.

W: I do. But that's all we ever do. Let's do something different. Something cultural.

M: All right. How about a play?

W: Are you joking? You in a theater?

M: What? You think I don't like plays?

W: Do you?

M: Plays are OK. They're much better than musicals or symphony concerts.

W: OK, then, this weekend it's actors instead of athletes.

W: Can I have a word with you, Andy?

M: Of course, Ms. James. Is anything wrong?

W: A regular customer came to me and said you weren't very polite.

M: You mean the tall lady with blond hair?

W: That's right.

M: She was the one being rude. She wouldn't even look at the bags I showed her.

W: Just because the customer doesn't want to look at something, you shouldn't get upset.

M: But she picked up all the other bags and threw them down all over the table.

W: Well, the customers want to look at things before they buy.

M: Yes. I'm sorry. I know. The customer is always right.

W: That's right, so please be more polite next time.

M: Hello.

W: Hi, John. This is Denise.

M: Denise. Hi. What's up?

W: I need to ask you a favor.

M: Sure.

W: You have a VCR, don't you?

M: A video recorder? Of course. Why?

W: Well, I have to work late, and tonight my favorite program is on TV.

M: So, you need me to tape the TV program for you.

W: Would you? I'd really appreciate it. It's on Channel 2 at nine o'clock.

M: Don't worry. I'll tape it and you can pick it up after work.

M: Students, before we go to the Main Hall, I want to remind you of a few things. First, do not talk to your friends while the guest, Mr. Arnold, is speaking. It's impolite to the speaker and annoying to the people who are trying to listen. Second, stay in your seats until the program is finished.

Finally, at the end of the presentation, show your appreciation by giving the speaker a big round of applause. Let him know that you are glad he has come. OK, now follow me to the Main Hall.

W: The dinner starts at six.

M: It only takes one hour to get there. We've got plent of time.

W: But we have to pick up Frank and Alice.

M: Oh, I forgot about that. Where do they live?

W: They live in Springfield. It'll take half an hour to go get them.

M: Really? 30 minutes?

W: Yes, and from there we still have to drive an hour to dinner.

M: OK, I'll be ready in 15 minutes.

M: Kristy, look at these mirrors. Which one should we get for the living room?

W: I'm not sure. You have much better taste than I do.

M: Well, what about that heart-shaped one?

W: No. That's a little old-fashioned. And so is the round one.

M: Then what about the square one?

W: Which one? The big one or the small one?

M: The big one.

W: Don't you think it's took wide? What do you think about the long, narrow one?

M: Maybe that one is the best. Let's get it.
