완전히 새로운 세계가 시야에 들어왔다. 수로를 따 라 우거진 맹그로브 숲의 시원한 그늘로 들어가자 그 광경은 나를 들뜨게 했다. 나는 맹그로브의 아름 다운 잎과 꽃에 마음이 사로잡혔다. 그러나 무엇보 다도 나는 나뭇가지 사이에서 움직이는 토종의 새, 원숭이 및 도마뱀들에게 매혹되었다. “정말 멋진 모 험이야!”하고 나는 외쳤다
