평상시 복용하는 진통제에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

다양한 이유로 진통제를 복용해야 하는 경우가 많 다. 가장 흔하게는 두통이 있을 때 진통제를 복용한 다. 가끔 편두통이 있어서 진통제를 복용한다.

뿐만 아니라, 매달 생리통이 심하게 오면 정상적인 생활이 어려울 때도 있다. 이런 경우, 진통제를 종 종 복용한다.

허리가 갑자기 아플 때는 근육 이완제와 진통제를 동시에 복용하기도 한다. 병원에서 치료 후에 처방 해 주는 약들에도 대게 진통제 성분이 들어 있다고 한다.

진통제는 아세트아미노펜, 이부프로펜, 아스피린 등 다양한 유효 성분이 있으므로, 본인에게 가장 잘 맞는 진통제를 고르는 것이 중요하다. 진통제를 남 용하는 것은 나쁘지만, 통증을 완화하는 데 도움이 되기 때문에 우리 일상생활에 큰 도움이 된다.

A: Oh no! Don't worry, I won't hold it against you.


B: Thanks. I think I should take a painkiller and go to sleep early.


A: 오늘 우리 저녁 같이 먹기로 한 것 잊지 마.


B: 정말 미안한데 못 갈 것 같아. 두통이 엄청 심하네.


A: 저런! 걱정하지 마, 원망하지는 않을게.


B: 고마워. 진통제 좀 먹고 일찍 자야겠어. 


take a painkiller 진통제를 복용하다

내복약의 경우 우리말로는 '복용하다'보다는 '먹다' 라는 표현을 일상 대화에서 자주 사용하는데, 영어 권에서는 eat medicine이라는 표현은 사용하지 않는다. 입으로 먹는 약이라 할지라도 take medicine이라고 말하는 것이 자연스럽다.


I had a bad headache, so I took a painkiller.

나는 두통이 심해서 진통제를 복용했다.


You shouldn't take painkillers too often.

진통제를 너무 자주 복용하는 것은 좋지 않다.
