Student Behavior Agreement
I am aware that Downey Christian School (hereinafter “DCS”) is a Christian School. As a DCS student, I represent DCS to the community and those around me. I agree, therefore, to:
• Strive for excellence as a student.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there as no work, nor device, nor knowledge nor wisdom, in the grave whither thou goest.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 see also, Proverbs 18:9 Philippians 1:10
• Cooperate fully and respectfully comply ‘with those in authority.
Obey them that have the rule over you. and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief for that is profitable for you.
Hebrews 13:17 see also Romans 13:1-7.
• Abstain from the use or possession of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess [in which there is a lack of self-control, wasteful living];
but be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 see also 1 Corinthians 6:18-20
• Abstain from immoral, indecent, and/or obscene behaviors, actions, gestures, speech, and activities as determined by DCS.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Ephesians 5:3-5 see also, Romans 1:22-32 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7.
• Avoid the appearance of any wrongdoing, on campus and off campus, that might bring dishonor, shame or disrepute to myself, to my parents, to DCS, or to Jesus Christ.
Abstain from all appearance of evil. I Thessalonians 5:22 see also, I Peter 3:11
• Refrain from inappropriate speech, gossip, backbiting, slander, grumbling, murmuring, complaining, contention, dissension.
Let all bitterness, and wrath and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you with all malice: And be ye kind one to another tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake bath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32 see also, Psalm 34:14 Proverbs 10:18, 11:9, 17:19, 18:6, 26:20 1 Corinthians 1:10,3:3, 10:10,11:18 Ephesians5:4 Philippians2:3,14 1 Peter 3:10, 4:15.
• Refrain from television, radio, movies, music, and all other media programs or shows that portray or promote violence, immorality, indecency, pornography, and or obscenity as determined by DCS.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be tiny virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8.
• Abide by the DCS Dress Code and dress modestly when not required to wear the DCS uniform.
• Abide by and submit to the DCS Discipline Policy. Abide by and honor the standards, principles, and policies established by DCS.
I understand that breaking this pledge could result in disciplinary action in the form of Detention, Suspension, or expulsion from DCS.

Parent Pledge of Cooperation
We desire that our child be enrolled in Downey Christian School (hereinafter “DCS”). We understand that all students are enrolled in DCS on a trial basis. We also understand that DCS is a Christian school and that our child will receive a Christian education and will be taught the Bible and Biblical principles morals, standards, and values as DCS understands the Scriptures. We further agree to ensure that our child abides by this student agreement as well as all written and Verbal DCS policies, regulations, and instructions. We understand that it is my responsibility to check the DCS Student Handbook for any changes or updates found online at www.downeyweb.org under the link called “forms”.
We agree to cooperate with and to support the philosophy, standards, teachings, discipline, dress code, and all policies of DCS as outlined in the DCS manuals and as modified throughout the school year.
We understand that the DCS dress code entails wearing only uniforms purchased at
Educational Outfitters of Orlando located at 3845 East Colonial Dr. Orlando, Fl 32803 (near Fashion Square Mall) This includes grade appropriate & size/length appropriate shirts, slacks, skirts & jackets. We agree that if we have any questions, complaints, criticisms, and/or suggestions, we will take them directly to the Teacher, Supervisor, or Administrator. We further agree that if our child’s behavior, attitude, or progress is not in keeping with the harmony of DCS, or if we are not willing to cooperate with and support DCS, we will withdraw our child quietly .and without delay. I also understand that early withdrawal of my child at anytime during the year will result in forfeiture of any paid or unpaid fees for that year. Unpaid fees will become due immediately.
We understand that DCS has the complete responsibility for placing our child in the grade and the class deemed best for my child by DCS. We also understand that we must make full restitution for any and all DCS property that our child damages or loses.
We also understand the importance of paying money owed DCS according to the time such money is due. I understand that failure to pay on time whether by actual payment or the endorsement of a scholarship check will result in a late fee.
FOR MCKAY OR CHILDREN’S FIRST PARENTS ONLY-If we are a scholarship recipient, we realize that it is our responsibility to endorse the check within 5 days of the school receiving the check or risk paying a $25.00 late fee. I also understand that it is my responsibility to procure a copy of the check schedule from DCS to ensure endorsements are done on time.
We hereby give permission for our child to participate in all DCS activities, including field trips, Sports programs, and all other DCS sponsored activities that are away from DCS premises. We
absolve DCS from all liability should our child be injured during any DCS sponsored activity, whether on campus or off campus.
