국가의 주요한 경제개말계획 수럽에서부터 우리들의 일상생활에 이르가까 지 통계의 필요성과 그 신빙성의 요구도는 날로 높아가는 차제에 68년도에 이어 4 회째로 71 년도판 “임엽통계 요람”을 발간하게 되었읍니다. 막상 책자 를 펴내놓고 보니 당초에 의도했던 바와는 딸리 미흡한 점이 한두 가지가 아 엽니다만은 이점은 캠차 해를 거듭해가며 개선해 나갈것을 기익하면서 이책 자를 이용하시는 여러분의 아낌없는 지도와 편달을 바라마지 않습니다. 끝으 로 이요람의 자료수집에 편의를 제공하여 주신 관계자 여러분에게 깊이 감사 드럽니다.

We are pleased to publish the “ 1971 Forestry Statistics" the fourth since we started its publication in 1968 , when aII of us felt the need for reliable statistics for preparing the National Economic Development Plan and for our daily socia! living.

This publication still !eaves much to be desired , though efforts have been made to present the compiled information in a form as to serve best its objectives. As better information is available the publication w

1. 본 요람에는 당청에서 행정통제방식에 의하여 정계한 결과와 관계기관의 통계자료 중 중요한 사항을 수휴펀찬함.

2. 본 요람에는 주로 1970년 12 월 말일현재의 통계를 계재하였 S 며， 각 표에는 가급 적 1960년 이후 11 년간의 통계를 열기하여 그 통태를 살펼 수 있도록 함

3. 본 요람에서 사용한 도량형의 단위는 미-벼법을 원칙으로 하며， 다만 토지면적은 정보를， 기타 관습척 S로 사용되고 특수 단위는 이를 사용함.

4. 국제통계표중 한국에 관한 계수가 국내통계표 계수와 일치되지 않은 경우가 있으

나， 이는 국내통계/표에 의하여 국제통계표가 정정되지 않았기 때문엄.

5. 각 통제표는 합계와 세목이 각각 사사오입되었 S므로 세목의 함이 “합계”와 일치 하지 않을 때가 있음.

6. 본 요람에 서 사용된 기 호의 뭇은 다음과 같읍.

This booklet is compiled based on data collected by the Office by means of administrative statistics and important material extracted from the other rela ted

2. This booklet is mainly concerned with the data collected for the end of December of 1970 and also designedto include the statistics for the last 11 years beginning with 1960 in form of table so that its vicissitudes may be easily viewed

3. The unit of weights and measures are in principle based on the metric- system , but area of lansl in indicated in “ cheongbo" and special units in a customary use concurrently are aIso used.

4. Difference between the domestic figure and figures of international statistic table relating to Korea is due to the 'fact that the latter is not corrected \ according to the former.

5. Details may not add up to the totals due to rounding of figures.
