Tae-Sung Suh

Research Fellow. Master in Engineering, Yonsei University.

His major research works include 「The Revision of the Fourth National Comprehensive Territorial Plan」(2005), 「The Site Selection and Evaluation for the New Administrative Capital」(2004),

「Southcoast International Tourism Belt Develop-ment Plan」(1999), and 「DevelopDevelop-ment Plan for Taegu-Kyongbuk Metropolitan Area」(1995). He is currently Director of the National Territorial Plan-ning & Environmental Research Division.

Won-Bae Kim

Senior Research Fellow. Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

His recent research works include 「Collaborative Regional Development Across the Korea-Japan Strait Zone」(2005), 「Urban Networks and Infra-structure Planning in the Metropolitan Region」

(2003), and 「Restructuring Design for the Korean Peninsula in New Regional Economies of North-east Asia

(1998). His major works published include 「Culture and City in East Asia (1997, Oxford Univ. Press)」and 「Asian NIEs and the Global Economy (1995, Johns Hopkins Univ.

Press)」. He is currently leading the Northeast Asian Research Team of KRIHS.

Yang-Soo Yun

Senior Research Fellow. Master in Environment and Resource Management/Tourism Develop-ment, Ohio State University, USA.

He served as Director of the Research Planning &

Coordination Office, National Planning and Envi-ronment Division, and Regional Planning Research Division of KRIHS. He also served as President of the Korea Environmental Policy and Administration Society. His major research pro-jects include 「Formulation of the West Coast Tourism Belt Development Plan」(2005), 「Formu-lation of the Daejeon-Tongyoung Expressway Regional Development Plan」(2004), 「Formulation of the West Coast Expressway Regional Develop-ment plan」(2003), 「Study of the Designated Tourism Site Development System in Korea」 (2001), 「Formulation of the South Coast Tourism Belt Development Plan」(1999) and 「The Fourth Comprehensive National Plan」(1999).

Ha-Baek Yang

Senior Research Fellow. Master in Landscape Architecture, Seoul National University.

Major research works include 「Environmental Study for Restricted Development Zone (RDZ) Policy Reform」(2002), 「GIS Application for National Land Management」(1998), and 「A Comprehensive Study on the Mid - Mountain Areas and Establishing the Land Use Planning in Cheju Island」(1997).

Recent research works include 「Establishment of Consensus Building System for the Efficient Implementation of National Development Project」(2005), 「A Study on the Utilization of the Bukhan River Basin through South-North Korea Cooperation」(2005). His specialization in the field of urban and regional planning encompasses the urban and regional planning in North Korea and North-East Asia. He also published several articles regarding North Korea in international journals such as Cities and Habitat International.
