■KRIHS Korean Translation Series 4 -Matzizukury and Citizen Participation (Community Businesses)
The edition is the final part of the ‘Matzizukury and Citizen Participation' Series jointly worked out by the KRIHS and the Presidential Commis-sion on Balanced National Development. Focus-ing on the community business, the core project of the Matzizukury, the book deals with practical measures of bringing vitality to regions which is led by the residents, along with strategies of revi-talizing regional economy, thus turning regions into a self-sufficient economy. It is only a short time since the concept of community business first appeared even in Japan. Besides, it is not long since people started to fully discuss the issue. In this regard, the book, which describes in depth the background and ideologies of commu-nity business along with specific case studies, is expected to open a new horizon of the Livable City Project.
■2007 Global Urban Information - Add to Your Favorites
The book is designed to provide a direct access to diverse and in-depth urban information of the world as well as information on local cities for those wishing to obtain urban information. To this end, the book introduces websites that are the source of information on advanced cities and livable parts of the world provided in the global urban information website (http://ubin.krihs.re.kr), so that it can help the readers retrieve more vivid and profound up-to-date urban information.
For the reader's convenience, the book classifies approximately 800 relevant websites into four categories: global urban information, major global cities, global city creation, and global case studies of urban development and relevant institutions.
For approximately 170 of them, the book provides detailed information on the websites including the introduction, major contents, and data and lan-guage available at the websites. For the rest of them, the book provides brief introduction to the websites along with the URL addresses.
