2018 KF Public Diplomacy Training Camp
I. WHAT IS THE PUBLIC DIPLOMACY TRAINING CAMP?
The Public Diplomacy Training Camp is an annual program hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea and the Korea Foundation to promote mutual understanding and foster friendship among young people from all over the world. It is designed to provide participants with an opportunity to share cultural experiences, broaden their networks and work together to establish collaborations among young leaders.
In 2016, for instance, we invited 55 people working in the field of cultural exchange from the four Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia), and last year, social media influencers and members of Korean Wave fan clubs from all over Asia visited Seoul to share their social media strategies to promote Korean culture around the world.
This year, as a follow-up program of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, the camp targets young people who are interested in winter sports from Asian countries where such sports are not widely practiced.
During the week-long program, participants will visit the Olympic venues, practice winter sports and discuss issues related to the Olympics. We will also prepare various leisure activities and cultural excursions, allowing participants to have fun with youths from other countries.
