1. Program Objective

In order to promote the study of the Korean language and culture in the Republic of Korea, the Government of Republic of Korea and the Government of the Czech Republic are desirous of developing their co-operation in the field of education, as well as mutual friendship between the two countries.

2. Eligibility

⚫ Applicants who hold Korean citizenship are not qualified for this program.

⚫ Applicants must enrolled in the universities in Czech as of April 1, 2022.

⚫ All applicants must have maintained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) equivalent to or higher than any ONE of the following from their respective institutions.

- Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked within the top 20% within one’s class

- CGPA: 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, 3.23/5.0

※ If an applicant holds a transcript that does not include information on CGPA or is unable to convert his or her grades into any one of the GPA scales, then the applicant must submit additional documents officially issued by their institution describing the grading system of the institution.

3. Application Procedure

⚫ Application Period

- Applications will be accepted from March 22(Tue) to April 22(Fri), 2022; the deadline for submitting applications to the Academic Information Agency (procedure for students of public higher education institutions) is 19 April 2022.

Application submitted after April 22 (Fri), 2022 will not be accepted.

※ The guideline, application form, and university information will be available at the websites of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Czech, and entrusted domestic universities.

⚫ Note

※ Applicants must submit all the documents by the checklist order.

- Checklist for the application documents should be on the front page, followed by the required documents, stapled and attached.

- Number of copies for submission: One original document and two sets of copied documents (placed in a separate envelope).

- Documents should be presented in their original form. Documents written in other language must obtain certified transition in English or Korean authenticated by the issuing institution.

- Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants.

- Incomplete or incorrect documents may lead to application rejection or failure in the Selection Committee, and scholarship revocation if after entry into Korea.

- Applicants may submit the copies of awards, if available.

4. Fields of Study and List of Universities

⚫ Fields of Study (available courses) : Summer language course

※ All program is designed as 2~4 weeks Summer Language Program between June 13, 2022 ~ August 26, 2022.

⚫ List of Universities: The 7 universities (9 programs) designated by MOE - Applicants must choose the 3 desired programs out of the programs listed below.

(*In the case of CS2022-01, the program format could be changed to the offline program)

5. Scholarship

⚫ Scholarship Period: the program period indicated above table

⚫ Scholarship includes;

- Language Course Admission Fee: Full coverage - Tuition Fee: Full coverage

- Accommodation Fee: Full coverage

- Expenses for Excursions Organized within the Course: Full coverage

- Food Expenses: 7,000 won(KRW) per meal (3 meals for 1 day), if the meals are not provided by institutions

※ In the case of online courses, only tuition fees will be provided.

6. Selection Procedure

(1st Selection) Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Czech accepts the applications.

※They select twice of the number of awardees through interviews and recommend them to MOE.

※Please note that the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Korea does not accept applications or involve the selection.

(2nd Selection) MOE Selection Committee evaluates the applicants who passed the 1st selection and selects successful applicants. Each awardee will be allotted to one university

among 3 of their preferred university by MOE.

※ The ASEM-DUO Secretariat will notify the result to the awardees.

※ MOE and the ASEM-DUO Secretariat do not accept applications directly from an applicant.

Please note that the MOE accepts and judges only the recommended by the 1st Selection organization, which is the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Czech.

Transferring to a different university is not permitted in any case during the program.

7. Selection Criteria

⚫ All documents including transcript, self-introduction, study plan, letter of recommendation, and awards will be evaluated.

8. Total Number of Awardees: 5 students
