1번입니다. 대화를 듣고, 여자가 구입할 화장대를 고르세요.

M: Hello, ma’am. How may I help you?

W: Hi, I’d like to buy a dressing table for my daughter.

M: We have one on display at this store. Would you like to look at it?

W: You mean that one? The oval-shaped mirror looks too old-fashioned.

M: Then, please take a look at this catalogue. How about one of these with a rectangular mirror? They’re the most popular items among girls these days.

W: I like the one with shelves next to the mirror. My daughter can put her perfume bottles on the shelves.

M: So what do you think?

W: Well, I don’t like the cabinet at the bottom right.

M: I see. How about this one with three drawers? It also has shelves beside the mirror.

W: It looks good. I’ll take it.

M: Great. You’ll receive it in a week. Thank you so much.

2번입니다. 대화를 듣고, 남자의 심경 변화로 가장 적절한 것을 고르세요.

W: Hey, Jake. Is there anything good on TV?

M: Yeah, there’s a baseball game between the Dragons and the Raiders.

You know I’m a fan of the Raiders.

W: Are they winning?

M: Yes. They’re ahead nine to six with two innings to go. Wow!

Johnson just hit a home run.

W: Oh, wait a minute. I think I’ve seen this before. This isn’t a live broadcast.

M: What do you mean?

W: They’re showing the game that was played last Wednesday.

M: Then you must know how the game ends. The Raiders won, right?

W: Well, I don’t want to spoil it for you.

M: I won’t get angry at you for spoiling it. The Raiders won, right? Tell me, please.

W: Well, if you insist... The Dragons beat the Raiders.

M: Oh, no. I shouldn’t have asked.

3번입니다. 대화를 듣고, 두 사람의 관계로 가장 적절한 것을 고르세요.

W: Nice to see you again. Our beverage has been a great success, thanks to you.

M: Oh, I’m flattered. But the product itself was really good, both in taste and design.

W: Thanks. Anyway, let’s get down to business. We want you to make the advertisement for our new product again.

M: No problem. What is it this time?

W: It’s pumpkin juice.

M: Pumpkin juice? How interesting! It sounds like a health drink.

W: Yeah, but we’re targeting young female consumers rather than the elderly so I want the ad to be more appealing to a younger audience.

M: I see. When would you like it ready?

W: Well, we’re planning to bring this drink onto the market in three weeks. So, the ad should be ready to go on the air one week before that.

M: OK. I’ll show you the outline soon.

W: Great. I’m sure it’ll be a big hit.

W: Two nights. How much is it per night?

M: We charge 30 dollars for the first night and half price for each additional night.

W: So, the second night is 15 dollars. That sounds good.

M: How many people will there be?

W: Two adults and three children.

M: The original price covers a family of four. You’re one person over, so the total will cost 5 dollars more. Would you like to rent a tent?

W: No, thanks. We’ll bring our own tent and equipment. Are pets allowed on the camping site?

M: Yes, they are. Under what name do you want the reservation?

W: Jennifer Yoon. Thanks.

W: You mean you sent us another letter?

M: Yes. My professor wrote the wrong date on the first letter, so he had to write another one.

W: Could you tell me when he sent it to us?

M: Probably the day before yesterday. If you find it, could you please replace the old one with the new one?

W: Let me check if I have it. [ pause] Hmm... We have all your documents but we haven’t received the new letter yet.

M: Really? Oh, my. The application deadline is tomorrow. What can I do then?

W: If we don’t receive it, we’ll call your professor directly and ask him to send the letter by fax.

M: Can you describe him for me?

W: His name is Daniel Kim. He’s five years old and wearing a blue striped shirt and red pants.

M: OK. Don’t worry too much. He couldn’t have gotten far.

W: Please do something! I’m so worried. Should I call the police?

M: Calm down, ma’am. Let me make an announcement first. Then, people will hear the announcement and help you find your child.

W: OK. Please hurry.

M: While I’m making the announcement, please write your child’s name and your address on this form.

W: Do you really think I’ll ever be able to play like her?

M: It’s hard to say at this point. But if you work hard enough, you can achieve your dream.

W: I think the most difficult part of accomplishing something is getting started.

M: Well, if you’re serious about starting, I know an excellent cello teacher.

W: Great! Can I get the teacher’s phone number?

M: Sure. I’ll text it to you.

W: Thank you.

I’ll do it for you now.

W: Is that all I need to access my bank account online?

M: Well, as far as I know, you need a security card issued from the bank in order to use the system.

W: Oh, yes. I got the security card yesterday and I put it in my purse.

M: Give it to me, Mom. Let’s see if it works.

M: OK. So what are you making with it?

W: I’ll mix these microorganisms with water from rinsed rice and syrup to make detergent. But we must wait a week before using it.

W: Yes. Please tell me more about it.

M: In the program, you’ll teach students with difficulties in math and English.

W: That sounds pretty easy to me. Anything else?

W: Look at the election poster! Isn’t that Sarah May?

M: Yes, it is. She’s running for president of our student committee.

W: I can’t believe it. She’s the quietest person in my math class.

M: Really? She was in my poetry class last semester and she was very well-spoken.

W: Then, why is she so quiet in math class?

M: Maybe she doesn’t like math much.

W: That’s possible.

M: She has a good reputation too. I heard she’s been volunteering for the homeless for two years.

W: Wow! I didn’t know she was that kind of person. That’s great!

M: Yeah. Most of my friends don’t like that spot, but I think it’s OK.

W: But you were unhappy with it last month.

M: Actually, there was no problem with the seat. I just didn’t like the way we chose our seats.

W: What do you mean?

M: Last time when we chose our seats, the students who came earlier chose their seats first. So, the students who lived near the school had an advantage.

W: Aha! This time, by picking randomly, you guys had an equal chance.

M:

(16)

M: Excuse me, I have a question. Why was this package sent back to me?

W: Let me see. The return code is 101, which means that the address doesn’t exist.

W: So, do you want to send it again?

M: Yes, please. When can my daughter get it if I send it to her today?

W: If you send it by express mail, it’ll take at least two days. Is that OK?

M: Sure, that should be fine.
