How to Apply for‘Isolation Exemption Certificate’
(For Important business purposes)
KOREAN CONSULATE GENERAL IN L.A.
The company located in Korea, applies the official letter to the relevant Korean Government Office. (NOT your company in the U.S.A.)
(Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy or any Korean Government Office related with your business trip)
After reviewing, you will receive three Isolation Exemption Certificates with stamps via E-mail.
(It usually takes less than 5 business days.)
Apply for the official Letter
(At Facility near Incheon International Airport)
The Korean Government Office will review your application.
If your application is approved, the Government Office will send the official letter to the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Korea. Then it will be forwarded to our consulate.
(Also, the applicant will be notified of the result from the Government Office. NOT from our consulate.)
Application Review Process
(If the company in Korea be notified of the result), the traveler who will visit Korean prepares the documents below.
1) Isolation Exemption Cetificate (3 copies) 2) Quarantine Exemption Agreement (1 copy) 3) Passport (1 copy)
4) E-Ticket (1 copy)
Prepare your documents
(Please confirm your result regarding the official letter with the company in Korea before sending us the documents.) When you are ready, scan and email all documents to us : consul-la@mofa.go.kr.
It usually takes less than 5 business days.
If you are in EMERGENCY, you may visit our consulate.

YOU MUST bring All Three Isolation Exemption Certificates to Korea.
(One for you, One for the Immigration Officer, One for the Quarantine Officer.)
Arrival / Covid-19 Test
※Please be noted that isolation exemption certificate does NOT exempt you from COVID-19 testing at the airport.
The test result will be available in 6 to 24 hours.
Accommodation will be provided if an overnight stay is required.

Positive, Quarantined in hospitals.
