Fish Fauna of Mt. Gwanggyo

Department of Biological Science, College of Natural Science and Engineering, Sangji University

To clarify the structures and functions of ecosystem and to establish the methods for the conser- vation of natural resources in the Mt. Gwanggyo, the author surveyed fish fauna at 5 stations from September to December, 2008. The collected species during the surveyed period were 10 species belonging to 4 families. Korean endemic species was Odontobutis interrupta, which showed a ratio of 10% in all collected species. According to relative abundance in the studies area, Rhynchocypris oxy- cephalus (74.5%), Zacco platypus (8.7%), and O. interrupta (4.0%) dominated. Cyprinus carpio and Abbottina rivularis were rare in the surveyed areas, which occupied less than 1% in relative abun- dance. Dominant species wase R. oxycephalus in the all stations. According to the diversity, evenness and richness indices, St. 5 may more stable in fish community than others.
