A Survey of Physics Teachers’ Opinions about the 2009 Revised High-school
‘Physics I’ Curriculum and Test

This study examines teachersï opinions on the revised curriculum for and on the test in high- school physics I. For this purpose, we conducted an online survey of 48 high-school physics teachers.
According to the results, the teachers noted that the advantages of the revised curriculum are the use of real-life materials, the way of modern physics, and the qualitative approach to contents. A thread of connection exists between the teachersï opinions and the gist of the amendment. However, because of a lack of regulations on the level of achievement and a lack of scope for the curricu- lumïs contents, many teachers struggle to provide effective instruction. Regarding tests examining studentsï understanding of the new curriculumïs contents, many teachers think that testing the understanding of basic concepts by using easy questions is appropriate. On the basis of the results, we suggest some improvements.
