Duterte calls for special session of Congress on martial law extension
President Duterte has called for a special session of Congress on Saturday for the possible extension of martial law in Mindanao.
This was confirmed by Malacañang on Monday following the submission to the President of the
recommendation of the Department of National Defense (DND) and Philippine National Police (PNP) on whether to extend or terminate martial law in Mindanao.

Duterte to form ‘Moro country’
President Rodrigo Duterte has promised to establish a “Bangsamoro country” in a bid to bring peace to Mindanao, where government troops are battling the Islamic State-linked Maute group.
Duterte gave the assurance as he formally received the final draft of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) during a ceremony in Malacañang on Monday.
