The number of fatalities from Typhoon ‘Ulysees’ rose to 69 and 12 are reported missing, as search and rescue operations continues in hard hit areas such as the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela. It is also reported that 286,000 families or 1.1 million individuals are deeply affected by the aftermath of Typhoon ‘Ulysees.’

The country’s budget deficit from January to September has widened to P897.2 billion, which is equivalent to 6.9% of gross domestic product (GDP) due to higher expenditures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) was signed yesterday by the 15 Asia-Pacific economies through a virtual ASEAN Summit. The RCEP will account for 30% of the global economy, 30% of the global population and will reach 2.2 billion consumers.
