CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS 2012 Youth Camp for Asia’s Future

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea, through the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines, shall be recommending seven Filipino participants to the 2012 Youth Camp for Asia’s Future.

Deadline of application submission is on June 15, 2012, 12:00 NN. Selection guidelines are as follows:

A. Basic Camp Information

 Title: 2012 Youth Camp for Asia’s Future

 Slogan: “Asian Youth, Stay in Touch with Korea”

 Period: August 6-20, 2012

 Venues: Seoul, Yeosu, Jeju Islands

 Date of Departure from Manila: August 6, 2012 (12:10AM)

 Date of Arrival in Manila: August 20, 2012 (11:40PM)

 Number of Participants: 200 from 24 countries

 Sponsorship: Round-trip flight ticket, accommodation, meal, transportation and program expenses

 Participant’s Responsibility: Airport fee (Travel and terminal fee)

 Official language: English

 Main activities: Welcome ceremony, Korean cultural lessons and experience, cultural exchanges, teamwork activities, farewell ceremony

 Host: Ministry of Gender Equality & Family, Republic of Korea (MOGEF)

 Organizer: National Council of Youth Organizations in Korea (NCYOK)

 Sponsor: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Republic of Korea (MOFAT)

 Recommending institution: Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines

B. Qualifications

1. Youth between 18-24 years old (Born between 1994 and 1988) 2. Proficient in English communication

3. Interested in international relations or Korea 4. Priority will be given to applicants who:

a. Have no previous visit experience to Korea;

b. Have achieved award/s from any contest related to Korea;

c. Have studied Korean/Korean studies (or in a related field);

d. With a letter of recommendation from the school/university/company head;

and

e. With an ability to present a traditional performance on stage.

C. Documents to be submitted 1. REQUIRED

a. Duly accomplished application form (please see attached form)

b. Copy of passport (up to two recent passports will be checked during the interview for previous visit/s to Korea)

c. 1 Passport size photo d. Curriculum Vitae

e. For students: Proof of enrollment

f. For non-students: Certificate of Employment g. Photocopy of birth certificate

2. OPTIONAL

a. Proof of Korean/Korean studies experience b. Proof of winning any Korean-related contest

c. 3-5 photos of traditional performance or any related presentation d. Letter of recommendation from professor, principal or head of company

D. Submission

Any of the following modes of submission is accepted:

1. Via email: Send your scanned application requirements to kccphil@gmail.com with Email subject title: Application for the 2012 Youth Camp for Asia’s Future. Email must be sent on or before 12:00 NN of June 15, 2012.

2. Via post: Send to the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines, 2/F Mancor Corporate Center, 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. The parcel must arrive in the Center not later than June 14, 2012.

3. Personal submission: Bring your application requirements to the address stated above on or before 12:00 NN of June 15, 2012.

E. Selection Schedule

June 15, 2012: Deadline of submission (up to 12:00NN only) June 18, 2012: Notification for Interview (if applicable) June 20, 2012: Announcement of Selected Participants

June 22, 2012: Meeting for traditional performance and cuisine festival June 28, 2012: Submission of recommendation to Korea
