Work Offered

The chair for Measurement and Sensor Technology is dealing since many years with the development of polymer and nanocomposite based sensors. The aim is not a nano-scaled sensor, much more to use the specific properties of nanomaterials integrated within a polymer matrix for macroscopic sensor solutions. The development of a polymer based sensor system combines many different and heterogeneous topics. Beneath the briefly understanding of different materials, the polymer substrate and the nanocomposites as well, there is a deep knowledge necessary for technological issues like mixing dispersions or at the end the application technic for the sensor structures, like drop casting, spin coding or inkjet printing. Sensors which were realised in the history were strain, pressure, temperature and humidity sensors. Currently there are a lot of activities for ion selective detection in the field of air and water quality measurement. Beneath such a more technological topic field, there is the requirement of electronic development as well. There is a demand of standard signal processing electronic, finally the reading of the sensor data in a resistive or a capacitive measurement. Lastly there is a huge potential to realise a tomography approaches as well a fast multi-channel measurement is required.

This is a general topic description; a detailed or more specific one is depending on the qualification of the candidate and the time of an application.
