application and submit an official medical assessment issued by a hospital after being accepted. If severe diseases( such as HIV), drug addiction or diseases which may interfere with studying abroad are found, the admission is cancelled.

3. Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of September 1, 2011 (Born after September 1, 1971).

4. Applicants must hold(or expected to hold) a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of August 31, 2011.

※ For the Master’s programs : students must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than a Bachelor’s degree.

※ For the Doctoral programs : students must hold a Master’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than a Master’s degree.

※ Applicants who are enrolling or have already enrolled in the same academic program elsewhere in Korea as the one they are applying for will not be admitted.

※ Applicants who are expecting an adequate diploma may submit a certificate or letter of expected graduation at the time of application and must present their diploma prior to September 1, 2011.

5. Applicants must have a grade point average(G.P.A.) of at least grades/marks/score of 80% or higher from the previously attended institution.

※ If the grade is recorded in a format other than GPA or percentage, official explanatory documents from the attended university are required.

6. Applicants who have acquired Korean proficiency scores (i.e.TOPIK or KLPT) or English proficiency scores (i.e.TOEFL,TOEIC or IELTS) are given additional points or may be selected primarily in the first selection. The students who do have the scores may submit them with the application.

7. Applicants for Natural Science or Engineering Degrees are primarily selected in cases of equivalent qualifications or the same scores as current students.

※ Documents not in English or Korean must be accompanied by a complete and accurate English or Korean translation certified by the issuing institution

4. Note

- Dual recommendations by more than one organization are not acceptable.

- Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants.

- Incomplete or incorrect documents are subject to rejection by NIIED.(Even after entry to Korea)

- Copied documents inevitably will be checked against the original by the named institute.

- Applicants must accurately fill out the personal medical assessm- ent form. If severe diseases considered that studying is imposible are found in the medical exam conducted after their admission, the admission is cancelled.

- Applicants may submit copies of published papers, if available.

- Applicants may submit the copies of awards, if available. (They should be checked against the original by the named institutes)

- Applicants who are currently studying in Korea or graduated from a Korean university must submit one recommendation letter from the head of the relevant department of the university.

- Integrated MA & Doctoral Programs are excluded in the application process.

- Students are not allowed to transfer schools during any period of the program once he/she enters the school.

Ⅴ. Application Procedure

All documents including transcripts, the self introduction, study plans,recommendations, language proficiency (Korean and English), papers, awards, etc. are comprehensively evaluated.

※ Applicants for the department of Industrial Design Engineering should submit their portfolios and graduation work(s).

Ⅵ. Campus Life (Accommodation)

1. Regarding accommodation

- On-campus accommodation will be provided for all foreign students

- All complaint will be checked through individual interviews and any need will be further discussed with the dormitory administr- ation

- An independent cooking room respecting students' cultural and dietary life along

with a prayer room for religious ceremonies are provided

2. Support for general affairs regarding foreign students' immigration for them to focus on schooling

- We handle and assist students in their various immigration-related reports such as foreigner registration and visa extension

3. Health Management

- We provide international student health insurance which covers Liability, Injury and diseases

- We encourage students to receive vaccinations against the Flu (i.e. bird flu)

4. Mentor Program for International Students

- One-to-one buddy program between an international student and a Korean student helps foreign students to orient themselves to university life and Korean culture through systematic management of school affairs and general living

5. Online Community

- Internet Cafe Address : http://cafe.naver.com/ourkut - Subjects: international students and interested ones (currently, 106 members)

- Languages provided : Korean, English and Chinese

- Services provided : KUT official notices, immigration-related guidance, free notice board, etc

. Important Notes

1. Although there are no restrictions on applicants for the departments of Bachelor's/Master's programs, in case they enter non-identical major departments, they should complete separate prerequisites required by the departments, if necessary, after being accepted.
