Korean Embassy in Fiji
Dear Sir/Madam,
The first Fiji-Korea Business Forum and Catalog Exhibition will be held at Holiday Inn, Suva, on Thursday 27th of October. The Forum & Exhibition co-organized by KOTRA (Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency), Korean Embassy in Fiji and Investment Fiji. We would like to invite you to attend this business forum where you will be provided with high-level insights into where current and future opportunities lie in Fiji for investment and trade. It will also provide a practical guide from experienced business people on how to tackle the various challenges that, as a developing country, Fiji poses to those doing business here. The Forum will consist of presentations and Catalog Exhibition featuring many Korean and Fijian business leaders; providing delegates with a comprehensive view of the Fijian economy and the many investment opportunities Fiji offers.
Fiji, endowed with large forest area, mineral, water and fish resources, is one of the most developed and the hub of the Pacific island economies. A growing tourism and mining industry which possessed 18% of the GDP and recorded the highest profit sector reaching nearly 1 billion FJD revenue respectively in the last year, are the major pillar in the overall economic field of the nation. Geologically, Fiji is strategically located as a regional springboard & potential manufacturing base targeting Papua New Guinea and many other markets in the pacific island countries.
The Republic of Korea is one of Fiji’s closest neighbor having long-standing diplomatic and economic ties since 1970. Korea is one of the first countries to recognize Fiji’s independence in 1970. Official relations between Korea and Fiji date back to January 10th 1971, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between the two nations.
Currently, the number of Korean firms doing business in Fiji is growing rapidly and yet there are still so many untapped trade& investment opportunities in Fiji in areas such as mining and infra-structure development.
On behalf of the Korean Embassy and KOTRA, warmly welcome representatives from Fiji & Korea. We firmly believe that the Forum and Catalog Exhibition will be successful and brilliant with your attention, support, and participation. We look forward to meeting you in the first Fiji-Korea Business Forum &
Catalog Exhibition. Attached please find a program and if you require further information please contact my staff, Ms Makelesi Lewaravu on telephone number 3315988 or email: [email protected].
We would be grateful to receive your confirmation by Friday 21st October, 2011
Yours Sincerely,
Ravuni Uluilakeba (Mr.) Chief Executive Officer Investment Fiji
