1. 대화를 듣고, 남자와 여자가 선택할 클럽 로고를 고르시오. [1점]

M: The samples of our club logo are finally here. Take a look.

W: Hey, they look pretty good! Which one do you like?

M: I like the triangular one.

W: I like it, too. But why don’t we think about the others first?

M: OK. How about the square one or the circular one? Are they too plain?

W: Definitely.

M: How about the diamond-shaped one? It’s cool.

W: Umm.... It’s so-so. What do you think of the flower-shaped one?

M: Well, I don’t like it.

W: Then we only have two choices: the triangular one or the diamond-shaped one.

M: Yes, but too many clubs these days are using the diamond-shaped one.

W: I agree. Let’s be unique.

2. 대화를 듣고, 남자의 심정으로 가장 적절한 것을 고르시오.

W: Hi, Jason! What can I do for you?

M: Well, Ms. Thomson, it’s about the exhibition next week. I think I need more time to prepare.

W: I’m sorry, Jason, but there isn’t any more time. The 2007 Art Exhibition is scheduled to open next Thursday.

M: This exhibition is so important that I’m getting nervous. If I don’t participate, I’ll have to wait for another year.

W: I understand that, but I’m giving you space in this show because I believe in you as a young artist.

M: I really appreciate that.

W: But, as you know, if you cannot make it, I have to give your space to another artist.

M: I know. That’s what concerns me the most.

3. 다음을 듣고, 무엇에 관한 설명인지 고르시오.

M: All right. I’ll tell you a few things you have to keep in mind. Before you climb, check all of your equipment carefully. Make sure you have an emergency kit and some emergency food. Tell someone where you’re going and when you’ll be back. During your climb, rest and drink water often.

And if you think you’re physically worn out, don’t push yourself to climb to the top of the mountain. Well, that’s it. Have a great time and remember,

‘safety first!’

W: Excuse me, sir. I was wondering if I could ask you a huge favor.

M: Yes, what is it?

W: Well, are you sitting with anyone?

M: No.

W: Oh, then, would you switch seats with my friend? We bought tickets at the last minute and were not able to get seats next to each other.

M: Where’s your friend’s seat?

M: OK. Eight hours. [pause] You’ll get your voluntary work certificate in a minute. How was work?

W: Frankly, it was difficult working in a nursing home because I usually don’t clean and do laundry at home.

M: Ah, that’s why you look tired. Anyway, what was the best part of your day?

W: Helping the elderly exercise. We had a lot of fun.

W: Yeah, I chose the Central National Museum.

M: The Central National Museum? I did a report on that place last year.

Maybe I can help.

W: That would be great!

M: Well, the next step is to get some information from the Internet.

W: Can you tell me an address?

M: Sure. Umm.... I used a site called w-w-w dot F-D-P-L-A-C-E dot com.

W: Well, this one holds more than 100 songs and this one holds over 200.

M: Yeah, but I want more memory, if possible. Hey, look at this one. It can hold 400 songs and the price is good.

W: It’s nice, but this one is better. The advertisement says it holds over 800 songs.

M: That one’s too expensive.

W: Oh, well, what about this one? It’s really cheap.

M: No. It only holds 100 songs.

W: Do you really need to carry more than 100 songs?

M: Are you kidding? I ride the bus for hours every day and I get bored quickly. I need something that can hold at least 400.

W: So, what are you going to do?

M: Umm.... I’ll get the one that can hold as many songs as possible and that I can afford.

W: Oh, how did this happen?

M: I dropped it at the library.

W: Ah, well, let me check. OK, we can repair it, but it’ll be $19.95.

M: That sounds fine. How long will it take to repair it?

W: It should be ready for pickup in about half an hour.

M: Great. I’m going to walk over to the coffee shop next door, and I’ll be back in a while.

W: OK. Here’s your receipt.

[Telephone rings.]

W: Thanks for taking care of him. I’ll be there to pick him up in an hour.

I’m going to take him to the animal hospital near your place for some shots.

M: Oh, I see. If you’re busy, I could take him there for you.

W: No, I don’t want to bother you. You’ve already helped so much.

M: Don’t worry about it. It’s really no trouble.

W: Actually, I do have to go to the post office. If you could take him to the hospital, that would be great.

M: No worries. Anything I can do to help would be my pleasure.

W: You’re a great friend!

11. 대화를 듣고, 다음 업무평가서에 잘못 표기된 것을 고르시오. [3점]

W: Have you made a decision about Dave Simson’s promotion?

M: Not yet. What do you think?

W: Well, according to his evaluation form, he’s good in the two categories of

‘following instructions’ and ‘working well with the team.’ Which skill do you think is essential to the position?

M: ‘Understanding the job.’

W: I agree. His evaluation says he’s excellent in that category.

M: I know. But....

W: But, what?

M: Well, the position also requires the ability to be a good leader.

W: Hmm. I see your point. The form says he’s poor in the category of

‘leadership potential.’ But, if I were you, I’d still focus on the essential requirement.

M: Do you think so?

W: Yeah. He’s excellent in the category of ‘positive attitude.’ So, you can train him in his weak area later.

M: Sounds reasonable. Thanks for the help.

17. 다음 상황 설명을 듣고, 선생님이 Laura와 친구들에게 할 말로 가장 적절한 것을 고르시오.

M: Laura’s teacher is really kind and always talks about the benefits of making new friends. Last week, a new student joined the class. He was really shy and seemed nervous whenever the teacher asked him to give answers. Some classmates thought that he was a bit strange, and it seemed he didn’t want to talk to them. Yesterday, Laura noticed that he was eating alone in the cafeteria. Laura and her friends decided to sit with him. Within a few minutes, they had a nice conversation. After Laura’s teacher watched this situation, what would he most probably say to Laura and her friends?
