Analysis of Physics Course-Taking Pattern in High Schools and the Entrance Examination for the University According to the Revised National Curricula

The pattern of physics course-taking in high school and the entrance examination for the uni- versity were analyzed based on the revised national curricula of the past 30 years for a discussion of the recently-revised national curriculum for high school physics and the college scholastic ability test. According to an analysis of curriculum organization and university entrance exams in high school physics, during recent years, the amount of time spent on these subjects gradually decreased, and the trend is becoming more severe. The guidance for the new curriculum and formats for ques- tions and comments on the difficulty level of the entrance examination are needs. Also because of decrease in the number of students taking physics in high schools, some counterplan is needed.
