서 론

황성대과(Peristediidae) 어류는전세계온대열대해역의 50-800 m 수심에서식하며(Kawai, 2008, 2013), 전세계적으로 6 45, 일본에 6 16, 국내에 2 3[황성대 Peristedion orientale Temminck and Schlegel, 1843; 남방황성대 Periste- dion liorhynchus (Günther, 1872), 별성대 Satyrichthys reiffeli (Kaup, 1859)]보고되어있다(Yamada and Yagishita, 2013;

Frick et al., 2020; Jang et al., 2020; MABIK, 2021). 황성대과 어류는몸에 4열의골판(bony plate)감싸고있는, 위턱 2개의 rostral projection있는, 아래턱에수염을가지 , 2개의유리연조를가지는점에서다른어류와쉽게구분 된다(Kawai, 2008; Pogoreutz et al., 2013). 황성대과어류는 6 개의속으로구성되어있으며, 속간주요분류형질로입술 아래턱에존재하는수염의형태개수, 위턱의이빨의존재, 등지느러미연조수등이알려져있다(Kawai, 2008).

별성대속(Satyrichthys) 어류는 인도태평양에서만 발견되

(Kawai, 2013), 세계적으로 7(Kawai, 2013, 2014), 내에는 별성대(S. reiffeli) 1종만이 보고되어 있다(Chyung,

1954, 1977; NIBR, 2011; MABIK, 2021). 별성대속은위턱 이빨이없는, 머리의측면이매끄러운, 배쪽골판(bony

plate)미병부까지분획된등에서다른어류와구분된

(Kawai, 2008, 2013). 2021 3 31동해포항앞바다에 별성대속에속하는성어 1개체가채집되었다. 개체는 턱에이빨이없는, 등지느러미에반점이산재하는, 미병 부의극이양방향으로존재하는, 수염의개수형태에서 Satyrichthys welchi (Herre, 1925)동정되었다. 따라서

구는국내에서처음발견된 S. welchi 형태적특징을상세히

기술하고, 국내산별성대(S. reiffeli), 호주산 S. welchi 대만 S. laticeps 표본과의비교를통해형태적차이를제시하였다.

재료 및 방법

연구에서분석에사용된별성대속어류 1개체는 2021 3 31한국경상북도포항앞바다에서정치망으로채집되었 으며, 실험실로운반후 Kawai (2013)따라동정하였다. 표본 모든지느러미를펴고 10% 포르말린용액에고정한수세

과정을거쳐 70% 에탄올에보관하였다. 이후표본은국립해양

한국 동해 남부 포항 연안에서 황성대과 어류, Satyrichthys welchi의 첫 출현

A New Record of Satyrichthys welchi (Peristediidae, Teleostei) from Pohang in the Southern East Sea of Korea

A single specimen (244.2 mm in standard length) of Satyrichthys welchi was collected from Pohang in the southern East Sea of Korea in March 2021. This species is characterized by the following morphological combination: 4 lip barbels, 3 chin barbels, antrose spines on upper lateral low of posterior bony plate and equal parietal bones. S. welchi was morphologically similar to its congeneric species, S. laticeps, but is clearly distinguished in presence of dusky black spots on dorsal fin (present in S. welchi vs. absent in S. laticeps). We propose a new Korean name “Gi-Jeom- Byeol-Seong-Dae” for the species S. welchi.

생물자원관(Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea, MABIK) 등록보관하였다. 계수계측은 Kawai (2013)따랐으 , 계측형질은버니어캘리퍼스를통하여 0.01 mm까지측정 하였다. 계수형질은모든지느러미를포함하여수염의개수( 수염, 아래턱수염), 몸을둘러싸는 4줄의골판(bony plate) 개수, 항문골판의개수를추가로계수하였다. 비교 석을위하여, 국립생물자원관(National Institute of Bioligical Resources, Korea, NIBR-P)에서보관중인별성대(S. rieffeli) 1개체와일본홋카이도대학박물관(Hokkaido University Mu- seum, Japan, HUMZ)에서보관중인 S. welchi (2개체) S.

laticeps (1개체)대여받아직접비교하였다.

결 과

Satyrichthys laticeps: HUMZ 185184 (어체표본), 1개체, 190.6 mm, Tonggang Fishing port, Pingtung, Taiwan, 2002 8 28, HUMZ.

Satyrichthys rieffeli: NIBR-P 0000014510, 1개체, 체장 169.1 mm, 제주도, 2020 11 19, NIBR.

형태 기재

계수계측은 Table 1 같다. 몸은원통형이며, 미병부로 수록얇아지고, 전체에걸쳐딱딱한골판(bony plate)으로 있다. 머리는매우크다(체장의 35.5%). 주둥이는짧으며 ( 장의 18.4%), 아래쪽을향하고있다. 주둥이전방으로길게 장된 rostral projection존재한다(체장의 10.3%). 안경은 안간격보다약간크며, 주둥이등쪽정중선에뒤쪽을향하는 3존재한다. 양안선단부에도뒤쪽을향하는극이 1 재한다. 콧구멍은주둥이전방으로신장된 rostral projection

이에 1쌍이존재한다. 위턱에는이빨이존재하지않고아래턱에 이빨이존재하며, 위턱의중앙이오목하게만입되어있다. 래턱의측면에는 4쌍의수염이존재하며(Fig. 2A), 마지 수염은다른수염보다현저히길다(Fig. 2A, Table 1). 아래 턱의하단면에도 3쌍의수염이존재하며길이가측면수염과 비교했을, 현저히짧다. 새개부는접합되어있다. 등지느러미 극조 7연조 17개로구성되어있으며, 지느러미막으로 어져있고, 극조부의끝으로갈수록길이가짧아진다. 뒷지느러 미는연조 17개로구성되어있고투명하며, 지느러미막에의해 이어져있다. 가슴지느러미는연조 12개로전새개골뒤에위치 하며, 하단부에두개의유리연조가존재한다. 유리연조는두번 유리연조가첫번째유리연조보다약간길며가슴지느러 연조보다굵고단단하다. 배지느러미는첫번째유리연조의 기저아래쪽에서시작되며, 가슴지느러미보다길이가짧다. 리지느러미는정미이며, 가운데부분이약간만입되어있다. 리는전체적으로단단한골판으로덮여있으며, 두정부는 개의골판으로분획되어있고, 후단의골판의크기는같다(Fig.

2B). 머리의후단에서시작하는골판은전체적으로열을

루고있으며 4열을이룬다. 등쪽골판의개수는 27, 측면 상단골판 32, 측면하단 22, 항문 22개의골판으로이루 어져있으며, 항문골판의개수는 2개로다른골판보다크다. 등쪽, 측면상단, 측면하단의뒤쪽을향하는 3열의날카로운 줄지어있다. 극은몸에연속되는골판의정중앙부에위치하 , 가장위쪽의극과아래쪽은몸의끝을따라연속되고, 가운 극은새개부뒤쪽에서일직선으로이어지다가등쪽세번째 골판의위치를기점으로급격하게내려온네번째골판에서 일직선으로꼬리끝까지이어진다. 미병부의극은양방향으로 존재한다(Fig. 2C).

체색

고정체색은등쪽은전체적으로갈색을띄며, 골판의경계

어두운갈색으로되어선명하다(Fig. 1). 배쪽의골판은상대

적으로옅은갈색을띄며측면을따라있는극을경계로명확하 색이구분된다. 등지느러미는옅은갈색이며극조부와연조 부에검은색의반점이산재하고, 뒷지느러미는옅은갈색을 . 가슴지느러미는검은색을띄며, 가슴지느러미밑의유리 조는불투명한갈색을띈다. 배지느러미는옅은갈색을띈다. 리지느러미는기저부로갈수록짙은갈색이다.

분포

서태평양: 중국(Randall and Lim, 2000; Kawai, 2008, 2013), 일본(Kawai, 2013; Yamada and Yagishita, 2013), 필리핀(type locality; Kawai, 2013; Motomura et al., 2017), 호주 (Paxton et al., 2006; Kawai, 2013), 한국동해남부(연구).

고 찰

2021 3포항앞바다에서채집된황성대과(Peristediidae) 1개체를형태적으로동정한결과, 위턱에이빨이없는, 꼬리

자루에서측면아래쪽의골판(bony plate)배쪽의골판이

이어지지않는, 뒷지느러미연조수가 20개보다적은점에 별성대속(Satyrichthys)으로분류되었다(Kawai, 2008). 성대속에속하는종들중에서개체는등지느러미에어두운 반점이산재하는, 4개의입술수염과 3개의아래턱수염을

가지는(Fig. 2A), 꼬리자루에양방향을향하는극이존재하

(Fig. 2C), 두정부후단의골판의크기가같은점에서 S.

welchi형태적특징(Kawai, 2013)일치하였다.

체장에대한두장의백분비가 35.5%원기재별성대속

분류학적재검토에기재된 S. welchi계측값과비교하였

(Herre, 1925; Kawai, 2013) 35.1-41.9% 안에포함되는 대부분일치하였으나, 체장에대한문장(18.4% vs. 19.4- 21.2%), 위턱길이(17.5% vs. 14.8-17.0%)에서근소한차이를

보였다(Table 1). 이러한차이는선행된연구에서관찰된표본

개수가동속다른어종들에비해현저히적기때문에(n=6)

측정값에서근소한차이가존재하는것으로 사료된다(Kawai, 2013). 개체는입술수염 4, 아래턱수염 3개를가지는 에서 S. welchi S. laticeps 모식표본과일치하였고(Fig.

2A), 다른계수형질도종과대부분중복되는 범위를보여

종간식별이어려웠다(Table 1). 그러나개체는형태적으로

S. welchi더욱가까웠는데, 이유는두정부후단골판의 기가같고, 등지느러미에어두운반점을가지기때문이다(Fig.

1A). 형질은종을식별하는데매우유용한분류형질로

주된다(Kawai, 2013) (Fig. 1A, Fig. 3). 종과한국에서보고 별성대(S. rieffeli)비교했을(NIBR-P 0000014510), 점의분포범위(S. welchi등지느러미에만분포 vs. 별성대는 전체적으로분포) (Fig. 1A, Fig. 4), 수염의개수(S. welchi 입술수염 4, 아래턱수염 3 vs. 별성대는입술수염 2, 래턱수염 1-2), 체장에대한주둥이골판의길이(S. welchi Fig. 3. Image of comparative specimens. A, Lateral view of Sa-

10.3% vs. 별성대는 17.2%) 에서뚜렷히구분되었다(Table 1). 따라서한국에서처음보고되는종은별성대속의특징을 가지고있으며별성대와다르게등지느러미에만검정색의 존재하는것이특징이다. 따라서종의신한국명으로 점별성대제안한다.
