Freshman
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the Language Proficiency conditions listed below.
① TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) level 3 or higher
② Level 4 of the Korean Language Learning Program at the KNU Language Training Institute
③ TOEFL score of at least 550(CBT210 or iBT80 or TEPS 550 or IELTS 5.5)
④ Freshmen majoring in Arts or Sports who have studied Korean language for more than a year course can apply for admission
* The Department of Visual Culture and the Department of Storytelling are in the field of Humanities & Social Sciences so, these departments are not included in the field of Arts.
⑤ Applicant supported by the Korean government or by a foreign government, or the one who was born in the country whose mother tongue is English(US, Canada, UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland)
⑥ for ①~④, Those who expect to take the language proficiency test or finish the Korean language courses, may apply for the admission and should submit the related certificate by Feb. 28th,2013. If the applicant fails to submit the certificate, the admission will be revoked.
* All the foreign students have to obtain TOPIK level 4 or higher until graduation except for those listed below

․ Applicant who is applying for the department where students can earn credits for graduation only through English classes

Transfer students
Applicants who have the following educational background with the abovementioned admission qualifications
① Those who have completed at least a year(2semesters) course or longer and earned the credits as shown below at a domestic or a foreign university
‣ Sophomore : Over 33 credit hours (Engineering college, Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Information Technology college, Design college, Humanities&Social Science college in Samcheok campus, Health & Welfare college students must have earned more than 35 credit hours and Early Childhood education students must have earned more than 37 credits)
‣ Junior : Over 65 credit hours (Engineering college, Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Information Technology college, Design college, Humanities & Social Science college in Samcheok campus, Health & Welfare college students must have earned more than 70 credit hours and Early Childhood education students must have earned more than 75 credits)
② Those who have graduated from a community or Junior college, or those who are scheduled to graduate from it.
* Students of KNU (Chuncheon, Samcheok and Dogye Campus) can not apply but, those scheduled to graduate in Feb, 2013 can apply.

each department has completed the document screening process and also evaluate performance test.
c. Screening method : The maximum points that each one of the three
members from selection committee can award to an applicant is 100 points
and the average grade from the three members for that individual will be
awarded. Telephone Interview grades will be awarded by the president of the
selection committee.

Other languages must be translated in Korean and Notarized, then a copy of each, the original language and Korean, must be submitted.
b. The original copies of the documents issued abroad must be submitted.
(when you submit the copy of your documents, the original copy must be submitted as well. After comparing them, the original copy will be returned) c. Any falsified documents or incomplete documents will not be accepted.
d. If falsified admission documents are detected, the admission will be automatically canceled even after admission to the school, and the tuition fee will not be refunded.
e. The admission documents will not be returned.

a. Date : Dec. 27, 2012 ~ Jan 4, 2013 (Type 2 : Dec. 11 ~ Dec. 13, 2012) b. The payment method will be indicated at the time of the announcement of the names selected for the admission.
Ⅸ. Further information
1. Those who are granted admission, will have to pay the tuition within the designated period. If not, admission will be cancelled.
2. In case of accident or illness, those who are granted admission have to subscribe to an accident insurance that is effective from the date of entrance and lasts during the period of enrollment.
3. Undergraduate or graduate students scheduled to graduate from the undergraduate or the graduate school with the approval of the admission to KNU must submit a copy of diploma and the certificate of the completion of degree no later than Feb. 28, 2013. If not, the admission will be cancelled.
4. An admission certificate is sent to those who paid the tuition. To those who dwell in China, an admission certificate is sent after the allocation of a visa certification number by the Immigration Office of the Ministry of Justice.
5. In case an applicant who paid the tuition gives up on admission for an unavoidable engagement, the tuition paid is refunded by the procedure stipulated by the school regulations.
6. Apply to the International Affairs Office or Operative Planning Department with the tuition fee receipt, an application form for the tuition fee refund.
7. Other detailed information not specified on the admission procedures are
decided by "the Admission Committee."

a. KNU operates dormitories that can accommodate 7,095 students with subsidiary facilities and amenities such as reading rooms, TV lounges, weight training rooms, computer labs and laundry rooms.
