Freshman
Students who satisfy at least one of the following requirements.
① Those who have level 3 or higher on the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) (Those who have level 3 on TOPIK should acquire a level 4 or higher to graduate.)
② Level 4 of the Korean Language Learning Program in KNU Language Training Institute (TOPIK Level 4 or higher is needed to graduate)
③ TOEFL score of at least 550(CBT210, iBT80) or TEPS 550 or IELTS 5.5
④ Freshmen majoring in Arts and physical education who have studied Korean more than a year as of Feb. 29, 2012 can apply for admission.
※ People applying for the 25th TOPIK are expected to qualify for the level 3. If not, they will not be admitted(announcement date is on Feb. 9, 2012)
Transfer students
Students who have the following educational background with the abovementioned admission qualifications
① Those who have completed a 2 year course or longer and earned over 65 credit hours at a domestic university (Engineering college and Electrical and Electronic Engineering students must have earned more than 70 credit hours)
② Those who have graduated from a community or Junior college, or those who are scheduled to graduate from it.
※ Students of KNU (Chuncheon, Samcheok and Dogye Campus) can not apply but, those scheduled to graduate in Feb, 2012 can apply.

Applicants must apply for the admission on-line. Then print out the completed admission application form. Finally, Submit the admission application form with other admission documents to the campus where the department you apply for in person or by regular mail.

○ Although the applicant is a foreign national, if one of his/her parents is a Korean national, he/she needs to submit the following documents in addition.

3. Submission Instruction
a. All of the required documents must be submitted either in Korean or English.
Other languages must be translated in Korean and Notarized, then a copy of each, the orignal language and Korean, must be submitted.
b. The original copies of the documents issued abroad must be submitted.
(when you submit the copy of documents, the original copy must be submitted as well. After comparing them, the orignal copy will be returned) c. Any falsified documents or incomplete documents will be unacceptable.
d. If falsified admission documents are detected, the admission will be automatically canceled even after the admission to school, and the tuition fee will not be refunded.
e. The admission documents will not be returned.

2. Payment of tuition fee
a. Date : Jan. 3, 2012(Tue.) ~ Jan. 10, 2012(Tue.)
b. The payment method will be notified at the time of the announcement of the names selected for the admission.
c. If the tuition fee is not fully paid within the payment period, your admission will be canceled.
3. Refund of tuition fee
a. In case an applicant who paid the tuition gives up on admission for an unavoidable engagement, the tuition paid is refunded by the procedure stipulated by the school regulations.
b. Refund procedure : apply to the International Affairs Office or Operative Planning Department with a receipt of tuition fee, an application form for refund tuition fee.
4. Further information
a. Those who are granted admission have to pay the tuition within the designated period. If not, admission will be cancelled.
b. An admission certificate is sent to those who paid the tuition. To those who dwell in China, an admission certificate is sent after the allocation of a visa certification number by the Immigration Office of the Ministry of Justice.
c. In case of accident or illness, those who are granted admission have to subscribe to an accident insurance that is effective from the date of entrance and lasts during the period of enrollment.
d. Undergraduate or graduate students scheduled to graduate from the undergraduate or the graduate school with the approval of the admission to KNU must submit a copy of diploma and the certificate of the completion of degree no later than Feb. 28, 2012. If not, the admission will be cancelled.
e. Other detailed information not specified on the admission procedure are decided by "the Admission Committee."
f. The recruitment unit or department names may change upon the approval of
the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology. The changes will be
announced in the near future.
