목적격보어로 to부정사만을 취하는 동사

① so that... (목적) = in oder that
I studied hard so that I could pass the exam.
나는 시험에 합격하기 위하여 열심히 공부했다.
= I studied hard in order that I might pass the exam.
= I studied hard so as to pass the exam.
= I studied hard in order to pass the exam.
= I studied hard for the purpose of passing the exam.
= I studied hard with a view to passing the exam.
② ,so that (결과) = so
I studied hard, so (that) I could pass the exam.
나는 열심히 공부했다, 그래서 나는 시험에 합격할 수 있었다.
③ so ~ that... (원인과 결과) = such ~ that...
I was really tired. + I couldn’t concentrate in class.
I was so tired that I couldn't concentrate in class.
나는 너무 피곤해서 나는 수업 중에 집중할 수 없었다.
→ I was too tired to concentrate in class.
나는 수업 중에 집중하기에는 너무 피곤했다.
She is such a smart girl that she can solve it.
그녀는 매우 영리한 소녀여서 그녀는 그것을 풀 수 있다.
= She is so smart (a girl) that she can solve it.
→ She is smart enough to solve it.
그녀는 그것을 풀 정도로 충분히 영리하다.
