Differences between Have an Have got There is no difference between the two.
I have a new car= I have got a new car.
I have a headache= I have got a headache.
When have means to possess, continuous form cannot be used.
We are enjoying our vacation. We have/ have got a nice room in the hotel. ( Not we are having)
In questions and negative sentences there are two possible forms.
Do you have any questions? Have you go any questions?
I don’t have any question. I haven’t got any questions.
For the past, had is used without got.
Ted had long hair when he was a child.
In past questions and negative sentences, did/didn’t is used.
Did they have a truck when they were living in New York?
I didn’t have a truck, so I couldn’t carry the cargo.
Have is used for many actions and experiences.
Have의 사전 정의는 ‘가지다’이다. 영한 번역시는 문맥에 따라 다른
의미로 번역해야 한다.
Have breakfast/dinner Have a party
Have an accident Have a look
Have a conversation Have a trouble
Have a baby
이 경우 ‘애를 가지다’로 번역하면 ‘임신하다.’의 뜻이 되고 만다. ‘애를 낳다.’로 옮겨야 한다.
Have got is not used in the following sense.
Sometimes I have noodle for lunch
I have got some fruits. Would you like some?
Continuous form is possible with the expressions in the box.
We’re enjoying our vacation. We are having a great time(not We have)
Ted is having trouble with his car. He often has trouble with his car.
