They also represent a challenge to the international community’s efforts to put an end to the conflict in Yemen as well as being a blatant breach of international law, the statement added.

Kuwait underlined the need for the international community to hold those responsible accountable for their actions under international law.

promising projects in various fields, which are still under consideration to be launched.

“The Government of Kuwait has made persistent efforts, which resulted finally in inauguration of a permanent office for the organization in Kuwait out of 130 offices in various regions in the world”, said Hafeez in an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Further, he added that there is a planning process, which starts with discussion among experts of the organization and the Ministry of Health through which the Government determines its priorities and the way by which it will benefit from the organization’s capabilities.

Moreover, he pointed out that the five-year-plan of Kuwait comprises various elements, including good healthcare and sustainable development. He gave some examples of the projects that could be achieved between Kuwait and the WHO, including the health city, which covers various aspects such as health lifestyle, living style and environment in order to benefit from human capabilities. He disclosed that there are more than 45 projects that are under study.

“We could provide detailed information about this new variant, which still unknown”, said Hafeez when asked about the existence of the Indian COVID- 19 variant in Kuwait, and what the WHO could provide in this regard.

He added that the WHO is a link providing necessary information, experts and consultations to benefit local experts, and this is reflected on treatment programs by identifying the most efficient vaccines, the best treatment and the most successful prevention approaches.

He stressed that cooperation between both sides will not be only in COVID-19, however, it will extend to other fields like lungs, heart, and diabetes diseases, as well as health insurance, social protection systems and the ideal use of data systems. He expressed his gratitude for Kuwait for inaugurating the permanent office after 6 years of joint work despite the fact that COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted business all over the world.
