“You Don’t Represent Yourselves, You Represent Kuwait and Represent Me”, said His Highness the Amir to Diplomats

His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad called commissioned ministers and new heads of diplomatic missions to “enhance relations and connections between Kuwait and other brotherly and friend countries, and to represent their country in the best possible way in all regional and international activities”.

“Congratulations for your new positions, and I hope to put into your consideration that you don’t represent yourselves, however, you represent my country and represent me. I hope you all success”, said His Highness the Amir during his reception of diplomats who were sworn in front of HH on the occasion of their new positions.

Similarly, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad hoped success for the newly appointed ambassadors in their missions, and he asked them “to be the best representatives of their country and to take care of the interests of Kuwaiti citizens abroad, and to enhance relations between Kuwait and other countries according to its interests and foreign policy”. HH the Crown Prince also asked them “to be characterized by quite temper and familiar dialogue during their work in those countries and to reflect a civilized image for Kuwait abroad”.

Moreover, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled expressed his gratitude to the noble instructions of HH the Amir which shall be a guiding torch for diplomats while doing their tasks and serving their country – Al-Rai

Ministry of Electricity and Water Passed the Summer Season with 14.5 Thousand Megawatts as Surplus

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Mohamed Bushahri declared that summer rush season has ended for the Ministry.

He further remarked that the highest recorded electricity load reached 14 thousand megawatts, the total electric energy that was available at that time. He also noted that anticipations indicated that the highest load might reach 14.500 thousand megawatts.

“ We always call to rationalize consumption of electricity and water as per their needs”, Said Bushehri, remarking there is cooperation between the Ministry of Electricity and Water and the Ministry of Education to spread the culture of rationalization among the younger generation for the best interest of our nation by means of maintaining its resources.

“ Rationalization 3 project, which was launched 3 years ago is the fruit of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Electricity and Water and the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry’s plan for this season includes 100 more schools to spread the culture of rationalization, and enhance this culture for our sons and daughters are Kuwait schools in all governorates.

“Al-Bairaq” Produces 1500 Megawatt of Renewable Energy

Informed sources at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Researches (KISR) revealed that the third phase of Al-Shaqaya Project for Renewable Energy shall be called “Al-Bairaq”, and they indicated that it is anticipated that this phase shall produce 1500 megawatts.

Sources further indicated that Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) seeks currently to have approvals on the budget of the project from the Ministry of Finance and to appoint an international consultant for it.

Besides, sources indicated that specifications of the project shall be set by Ministry of Electricity and Water in cooperation with the international consultant, who shall be appointed.

Sources mentioned that Ministry of Electricity and Water requested the production of 1200 megawatts as photovoltaic energy, 200 megawatt as intensified solar energy in addition to 100 megawatts as wind energy. Sources expected that the project shall be competed in 2025.

As for the first phase that has been completed, sources indicated that this phase was completed with 100% government investment with a production capacity 70 megawatts, 10 megawatts of which is photovoltaic energy, another 10 megawatts of which is wind energy and 50 megawatts intensified solar energy, all of which were connected with the electric grid.

As for the second phase, Al-Dabdaba Project, sources said that the investor, KOC finished qualifying 28 company and consortium and shall meet today with the qualified companies during its first preliminary meeting. Sources indicated that the project shall produce 1500 megawatts photovoltaic energy and they expect that the project shall be completed by 2021- Al-Rai

“Economic Reports” Course Aims to Develop the Capabilities of MOFA Employees: Al- Jarallah

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khaled Al-Jarallah commended “Preparation and Analysis of Economic Reports” course organized by the Arab Institute for Planning with the participation of 32 personnel of MOFA, and he affirmed that this course was intensive and efficient, and it aims to develop the capabilities of MOFA personnel.

“The program of the course included lessons, intensive subjects and lectures which aimed to develop the capabilities of the personnel to prepare and analyze economic reports”, said Al- Jarallah – Al-Anbaa

Kuwait Central Bank Workshop Tackles Liquidity Management

Kuwait’s Central Bank is collaborating with the International Islamic financial market for a workshop scheduled for Wednesday over liquidity management and sukuk, the Islamic equivalent to a bond.

The endeavor is an effort on the part of the central bank to ensure financial stability in the country, its governor Dr. Mohammad Al-Hashel said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said that the workshop revolves around the concept of liquidity management, which deals with the appropriate administration of an entity’s cash and other assets to be able to meet its current liabilities.

Another topic to be addressed is the latest development in the global sukuk market, an industry that has grown significantly in recent years, in addition to the challenges facing the Islamic capital market. Al-Hashel went on to say that such workshops are productive activities, which help push Kuwait’s Central Bank closer to its ultimate goal of achieving financial stability – KUNA

Turkey is not a banana republic and it shall overcome the Crisis

Speaker of the National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim emphasized that “Kuwait’s attitude is to assist neighbor countries and to create an atmosphere of stability, security and peace for the best interest of all, and this is one of the cornerstones of Kuwait’s political doctrine”.

Al-Ghanim further affirmed in his speech at the 3rd meeting for Speakers of Asian and European Parliaments held in Turkish city of Antalia “Kuwait’s total rejection of all forms of economic forms and starvation policies”.

Al-Ghanim also remarked on the recent developments associated with the financial and economic conditions of turkey. “There are people, who speak publicly about targeting Turkey, and the desire to impose certain provisions on it”, said Al-Ghanim adding, “We say to all those, who declare launching an economic war against Turkey or hope the occurrence of financial negative repercussions there that you will never succeed because Turkey is not a banana republic”.

Al-Ghanim expressed his trust in the Turkish leadership and the Turkish people on overcoming any emergency economic incident.

Al-Ghanim further emphasized the importance of Asian-European cooperation in all fields based on geographic facts. He considered that there is only one way for prosperity and development which is cooperation, interaction, and reconciliation between parties- Al-Rai Kuwaiti-Egyptian Blood Mixed in the War of Attrition, 6th of October War and Kuwait Liberation War: Al-Kheder

Chief of Military National Service, Staff General, Mohamed Al-Kheder said that the glorious victories of the 6th of October War embodied the most magnificent Arab cooperation epics in the face of the Zionist enemy, and in demolishing the myth of “the invincible army”. Al-Kheder recalled with honor and pride mixture of Kuwait and Egyptian bloods in the Wars of Attrition, 6th of October and Kuwait Liberation War.

“Kuwait Army is in its best condition thanks to the wise leadership, and we are in the footsteps of our wise leader, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad”, said Al-Kheder, adding, “I would like to express the pride of all Kuwaitis for the participation of forces from the Kuwaiti army with their brothers from the Egyptian Armed Forces in the 6th of October war 1973 and the mixture of Kuwaiti and Egyptian bloods on the pure land of Egypt”. He further remarked that cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt is infinite and it covers all fields.

On his part, Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Tarek Al-Quoni said, “the 6th of October victory represents a day of dignity for every Egyptian and Arab citizen”, and he commended the role of Kuwait in supporting Egypt with soldiers and money during the war of attrition and the 6th of October.

Al-Qouni described the Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations as distinguished in all fields, and he lauded Kuwait’s keenness to partake the Egyptian people’s celebrations in all national occasions – Al-

A Message from His Highness the Amir to the Tunisian President

Ambassador of Kuwait to Tunisia, Ali Al-Dhafiri delivered yesterday a message from His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad to the Tunisian President, Al-Baji Qaed Al-Sebsi.

Tunisian Presidency said in a statement that Ambassador Al-Dhafiri handed the Tunisian President a handwritten message from HH the Amir, which included brotherly relations between the two countries and means of enhancing cooperation between them in all fields- Al- Rai

We Achieved Great Strides in Supporting Social Work: Al-Sabeeh

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Hind Al- Sabeeh affirmed yesterday that Kuwait has achieved great strides in all fields of supporting social work.

This came in a statement for Minister Al-Sabeeh, Chief of the current 37 term for the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs at the closing of 72 session for the Executive Committee of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers.

In this regard, Al-Sabeeh indicated that Kuwait has disability and elderly houses as well as houses for orphans. Moreover, Al-Sabeeh confirmed that Kuwait has achieved great leaps with regard to violence against women or against children in a way that maintains all levels of the community.

Besides, Al-Sabeeh clarified that Kuwait has new laws to protect juveniles or children or human rights, and that Kuwait has applied all agreements that it has ratified. She further remarked that Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor boosts to have centers for community development, which undertake some activities related to young people, drugs or family violence.

As for the meeting of the executive committee of the council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, Al-Sabeeh stated that participants decided the issues, recommendations and decisions that shall be presented to the 38 term of the council of ministers of social affairs and labor.

She noted that the balance should be discussed along with the strategy of the elderly and proposals of the member states.

Al-Sabeeh further clarified that there will be an invitation at the first week of December to a consultation meeting among Arab Ministers of Health and Arab Ministers of Social Affairs and Labor to discuss common issues apart from the meeting of Ministers of Social Affairs in Sharm El-Sheikh city in Egypt.

Al-Sabeeh further emphasized Kuwait’s keenness and interest in the file of disability. The Kuwaiti minister went on to explain that the social issue of disability in included in the session's agenda, saying she was hopeful that the talks would yield positive results. In addition to Al-
