Internship - OECD School Resources Review

Full-time, based in Paris.

Up to 6 months, starting as soon as possible.

The School Resources Review

Within the OECD's Directorate for Education and Skills, the intern would join the team conducting the OECD School Resources Review. Responding to the growing interest in the effective use of school resources, the Review conducts comparative and country-specific analyses on how school systems can best govern, distribute, manage and utilise their resources to promote educational quality, equity and efficiency. The project focuses on primary and secondary education and considers a range of resources, including financial, human and material resources. For more information on the project, please visit: www.oecd.org/edu/school/schoolresourcesreview.htm.

The internship

The intern’s primary responsibility will be to conduct analytical and drafting work on the use of time in OECD school systems. This may include analyses on the organisation of teachers’ instruction and non-instruction time; the length of classes and school days and the structure of the school calendar; the planning and organisation of after-school activities; how school schedules can be designed to foster productive adult collaboration and make the most of the school leaders’ time etc. This work will contribute to the project’s comparative thematic work with the aim to generate insights and actionable advice on ways to maximise the value of every minute of the school day. The intern’s work will include the analysis of documentary and statistical material, synthesising evidence from the relevant literature across multiple disciplines, and drafting sections of a report or developing a working paper. Interns at the OECD do not receive a salary but are provided with a contribution to living expenses of EUR 702 per month.
