What is E-VISA?
• E-Visa is an electronic visa issued by the Minister of Justice to a foreign talent such as a professor, researcher and others via online.
※ You do not have to visit a diplomatic mission abroad to apply and obtain a visa.
Eligibility and Services
• A candidate qualified for the Professor (E-1), Researcher (E-3), Technology Transfer (E-4), or Professional Employment (E-5) visa is eligible to apply for an e-visa.
(The inviter is allowed to apply for the e-visa on behalf of the invitee)
• Application is available at the HuNet Korea website (www.
visa.go.kr), the Ministry of Justice electronic visa system.
Entry Procedure
• An applicant arrives in the Republic of Korea with the
‘e-visa issuance confirmation’ which he/she printed out prior to his/her landing.
※ It is possible that the applicant arrives in the Republic of Korea without the e-visa issuance confirmation, but his/her entry procedure will be delayed as he/she will have to undergo an extensive entry inspection.

• Transport Operators can check whether or not their passengers have e-visas through the HuNet Korea system at www.visa.go.kr
※ However, only those accorded the right to use from the Minister of Justice, the Republic of Korea, can access the system.

E-Visa Application Procedure
Step1 Apply for the e-visa the applicant / the inviter
The applicant or the inviter applies for the e-visa at the HuNet Korea portal(www.visa.go.kr)
• Fill out the forms and pay for the fee

Step2 Check required documentation and conditions for application
The visa officer at a local immigration office checks the submitted documents and relevant facts and information of the applicant and the inviter
• The visa office will request to submit missing documents if any.

Step3 An immigration office sends the application to the Headquarter
The visa officer will send the application to the headquarter for consideration

Step4 The application is reviewed The Ministry of Justice will review the application

Step5 Accept / Reject
The Ministry of Justice will decide whether to accept or reject the application

Step6 The result is sent to the applicant
The result will be sent to the applicant either by a text message (SMS) or by an email

Step7 The applicant prints the e-visa issuance confirmation
The applicant or the inviter prints out the e-visa issuance confirmation
7
Step8 Arrival
The applicant arrives in the Republic of Korea with the e-visa issuance confirmation
