③ A student who attended Korean course at KNU Korean Language Program and holds TOPIK Level 3 or a student who completed Korean course Level 4 at the KNU Korean Language Program : Approximately 35% of school fees exemption

( However, student must have studied at KNU Korean Language Program for at least 6 months and attendance rate must have been 80%(during whole study period) or higher)

④ Scholarship for overseas Korean(for students applying through the Korean-Homeland Education(K-HED) Program : 35% waiver of the tuition fee

•Special Scholarship for freshmen (Only for the first semester) ① Non-sister university student : Approximately 40% of school fees exemption ② Sister university student : Approximately 50% of school fees exemption

③ A student who attended Korean course at KNU Korean Language Program and holds TOPIK Level 3 or a student who completed Korean course Level 4 at the KNU Korean Language Program : Approximately 50% of school fees exemption

The student who did not complete the course evaluations for every class that he/she took will be restricted in checking his/her grade during the grade check period (before grade confirmation) and the grade will be available after the grades are confirmed.

A. Objectives

1) The course evaluation is a critical system to improve the quality of the lecture by suggesting the learners’ comments and requirements regarding the contents and forms of the class to the instructors and the active participation of students is needed.

2) It will not cause any disadvantages as personal information of students is not provided.

3) The appropriate results will be yielded when each category is thoroughly considered and answered for this process is not to assess the preference for individual instructors but to evaluate the methods and contents of the lectures.

A. Purpose

To provide an opportunity of acquiring credits, for students hoping for early graduation, minor, double major, course retake

B. Schedule & instruction

A. Leave of absence

1) Leave of absence will be possible without tuition fee payment only during the designated period. (After semester starts, for leave of absence he/she must make a payment tuition fee)

2) Application for leave of absence after the tuition fee payment, caused by family emergencies, disease, pregnancy etc. should be sent to KNU OIA before administration office within 1/3 of the class days.

3) Note

- You will be recognized as expelled if you do not return after the expiration of the term of absence - After 1/3 of the class days, enrolled students will not be able to apply for a leave of absence.

- Freshmen are able to apply for a leave of absence after their first semester.

- The first of leave of absence will be possible for two semesters, if it's not possible, egunable to return to school due to proper problems, you must submit a document to extend your leave of absence within the designated period (or you will be expelled).

- If a student wants to apply for a leave of absence before the payment of tuition fee, documents regarding leave of absence should be submitted during the designated period.

1) Undergraduate

- The international student admitted to the undergraduate course should acquire either the level 4 or more on TOPIK or the English score above TOEFL (PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80), IELTS 5.5, TEPS 600, New TEPS 327, or TOEIC 700 before graduation.(The level 3 TOPIK is required for the KGSP student and the student studying on foreign government scholarship.)

- The new student admitted to the departments of Arts & Sports or Global Business, and the students from native English speaking countries (US, Canada, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland) are considered to have acquired the language requirements.

※ The official language certificate must be submitted to the Office of International Affairs.

2) Graduate

- The international student admitted to the graduate school should acquire either the level 4 or more on TOPIK or the English score above TOEFL (PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80), IELTS 5.5, TEPS 600, New TEPS 327, or TOEIC 700 before application for thesis examination. (The level 3 TOPIK is required for the KGSP student and the student studying on foreign government scholarship.)

- The international student admitted to the graduate school from 2014 should submit a confirmation form for completion of research ethics education course to his/her department before submitting a dissertation written for the degree.

10 Career Counselling (undergraduate)

A. Summary

To be assigned with a professor who helps to specify a student’s career throughout the semester.

A. How to issue

First, apply for an alien registration card at the Chuncheon Immigration Office and then visit the Shinhan Bank on campus with the issued alien registration card, your passport and a photo (3x4). The student ID card will be issued within 2 weeks.

※ For more information, call Shinhan Bank Call center (☎ 1577-8380, Foreign Language Service) ※ The freshmen will be informed at the international students orientation in the first semester.

B. How to re-issue

If you lose the card, report immediately to the security company (SECOM) and Shinhan Bank.

All international students are required to take the Korean Proficiency Test conducted by the Department of Korean Language and Literature. The graduate student must complete it with Korean Ⅱ. (However, it may be waived depending on the test results.)

The certificates are issued at the Office of Academic Affairs on the 1st floor of NaRaeGwan (☎ 033-250-8272) in Korean and English. There are various ways to request via an in person visit, e-mail, or post. Also, the automatic certificate issuing machines are available on the 1st floor of NaRaeGwan and the 2nd floor of 60th Anniversary Hall.

The KNU student ID card is also available as a bank card. This card can be used as a debit card, a rechargeable transportation card (T-money) and allows access to the campus library and buildings approved by the security company (SECOM).
