My choice! Dreaming of the future at KNU

KNU, stepping stone to the world

Attraction of the world-renowned Scripps Antibody Research Institute

Advanced Medical-BT Material Convergence Research Center designated as a major local research project agency - 33 billion won scheduled to be subsidized for 10 years

Sole attractor of the Eco-Farming Research Center - 11.4 billion won scheduled to be subsidized for 2 years

4 project teams newly designated through the interim assessment for the 2nd-stage BK 21 Project - the biggest number of new designations among national universities

Designated as an HR Trainer for Metropolitan Economic and Industrial Development - 26.6 billion won scheduled to be subsidized for 5 years

On-commission education provider foreign graduate school students invited by the Korean government

KNU, research-centered university

KNU has been selected as a top scorer in educational achievement evaluation by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for 2 consecutive years. It also recorded the highest year-on-year increase in the number of these according to the SCI Thesis Presentation Status Report of 2006 released by the ministry.

KNU, metropolitan-area university

As the Seoul-Chuncheon Expressway was opened to traffic in July 2009 and Chuncheon is now only a 30-minute drive away from Seoul, KNU is newly emerging as a metropolitan university. Its distinctiveness as a national university and new geographical advantage combined, matriculation of talents in the metropolitan area is steeply rising each year, making a turnaround for its qualitative and quantitative growth and development.

KNU, incubator of global leaders

With agreements for academic exchange concluded with 95 colleges and universities in 22 countries, KNU is striving to train global human resources via research cooperation and information exchange.

KNU, top-class green campus

Gangwon Province is where nature is kept the most intact in Korea. Located in Chuncheon with in the province, called the city of education, KNU can be called an

‘academy house in a forest.’ Its campus, quiet and beautiful all year round, provides the optimal environment to study in along with the dormitory for 3,000 students and the newly built BTL dormitory for 2,000 students.
