비만과 관련된 성인병의 치료에 체중조절이 필수임에도 불구하고 체중감량에 성공하기란 쉬운 일이 아니다. 단기간의 에너지 섭취를 줄임으로서 일시적으로 체중이 감소되지만 대개의 경우 다시 증가하게 된다.

따라서 남녀노소 할 것 없이 식생활 습관이나 신체활동을 즐기는 습관을 평 소 생활화하는 것이 건강생활의 향상과 활력적인 일상 활동을 할 수 있으며 성 인병 예방에도 꼭 필요하다.

비만조절 프로그램의 목표는 장기간, 지속적으로 실시하되 식이요법으로 식 생활 습관을 바르게 하며 실시하여야 가장 효과적이고 지속적일 수 있다.

본 연구가 결과적으로 두드러진 변화는 없으나 12주가 아닌 그 이상의 수련 기간을 갖는다면 체중, 체지방, 혈압, BMI의 변화는 두드러진 변화를 볼 수 있 을 것이다. 차후에 본 연구 주제로 연구를 한다면 단기간이 아닌 장기간의 수 련과 실험집단의 선정을 잘 고려하여 본 연구자의 시행착오를 거듭하는 일이 없어야 할 것이다.

ABSTRACT

A Study on Effects of Brain Breathing Training for Body Weight, Body Fat, Blood Pressure, and BMI

The purpose of this study is to examine the change in the body weight, body fat, blood pressure, and BMI after making trainees(beginner) of Dan training center participate in the training of the brain breathing almost everyday for 12 weeks, and in order to achieve the good result the following study targets were established.

Firstly, the body weight is supposed to be changed after participating the 12-week brain breathing training. Secondly, the body fat is supposed to be changed after participating the 12-week brain breathing training. Thirdly, the blood pressure is supposed to be changed after participating the 12-week brain breathing training. Forthly, the BMI is supposed to be changed after participating the 12-week brain breathing training.

The subject people are 10 fat males who are the beginners and just start the training in the Dan training center, and they participated in the 12-week

brain breathing training. The features of the subject people is that their average height was 168.8㎝ and the average body weight was 76.05 kgs.

The subject people whose BMI is over 25 kg/m were judged as the fat people, and the blood pressure was estimated by the electronic blood tonometer after maintaining the stable condition for over 10 minutes after the training. The process of the training was consisted of the relax training and breathing training for 7 minutes before the main training, and after 10-minute main training, the finishing activity was performed for 3 minutes.

The frequency of the training was 5 times a week, and the training was operated from 19:00 to 19:20 in the afternoon after finishing daily routines, and the place for the training was "Y" Dan training center.

The statistics was dealt by the computer in which SPSS/PC v.4.01 was installed, and in order to calculate the average value and the average variation of both before the training and after the 12-week training, the t-test was calculated. When the P value was under 0.05, it showed to have the statistically meaningful difference, and the statistics resulted in the following conclusion.

1) After the 12-week brain breathing training, the body weight of the subject people was decreased by 2 kgs compared to the body weight before the training. However, the statistically meaningful result was not shown (P > 0.05).

2) After the 12-week brain breathing training, the body fat of the subject people was decreased by 2.7% compared to the body fat before the training. The statistically meaningful result was shown (P < 0.05).

3) After the 12-week brain breathing training, the blood pressure in the contraction of the subject people was decreased by 2 mmHg and the blood pressure in the expansion of the subject people was increased by 1 mmHg compared to the body weight before the training. However, the statistically meaningful result was not shown (P > 0.05).

4) After the 12-week brain breathing training, the BMI of the subject people was decreased by 1.11 kg/m compared to the body weight before the training. However, the statistically meaningful result was not shown (P > 0.05).
