What is the 2022 Korean Ambassador’s Cup Open Taekwondo Competition, Online Poomsae Challenge?
This is an annual Taekwondo event hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uganda.
What is Poomsae?
Poomsae are patterns or a set sequence of movements that consists of various fundamental stances, blocks, punches, and kicks logically arranged in a meaningful order in response to attacks from multiple imaginary assailants. Poomsae is used heavily in Taekwondo rank testing and a skilled instructor can discern the knowledge, skill level, strength, and focus of a student just by watching them perform Poomsae.
When is this event?
Application forms and videos should be submitted starting from 1st July, 2022 to 11th August, 2022.
How can I submit my video?
Videos can be submitted in one of the following ways;
a. Via email to [email protected]
b. Delivery on USB to the Korean Embassy from 1st to 11th August, 2022
c. Posted on social media with the hashtag #2022TAEKWONDOUG and the Korean Embassy’s Social Media tagged. The Embassy’s official social media is as below;

Who can participate in this Competition?
Anyone of any age or gender can participate in this competition. It is open to both members of Taekwondo Clubs and the general public.
May I just post my video to social media without sending in an application?
No, an application form must be submitted to consider your video.
May I participate as a part of a club and also participate as an individual?
No, those participating as a part of a taekwondo club cannot participate as an individual that is not part of a taekwondo club.
Can my friend and I send in a video doing Poomsae together as a pair/team?
No, you may only participate in this competition as an individual.
