The Consumer Price Index was 118.9(2005=100) in January 2011.

The index increased 0.9 percent from the preceding month and rose 4.1 percent from January 2010.

The index excluding agricultural products and oils was 116.3 in January 2011. The index increased 0.6 percent from the preceding month and rose 2.6 percent from January 2010.

The most significant price rises were for food & non-alcoholic beverages and transport. The index for food & non-alcoholic beverages increased 2.4 percent in January, with the vegetables and seafood index rising. The index for transport rose 2.0 percent in January after increasing 1.8 percent in December.

The index for other components went up 0.1~1.2%, excluding alcoholic beverages & tobacco, communication and miscellaneous goods and services. Both the index for alcoholic beverages &

tobacco and the index for communication were unchanged in January. The index for miscellaneous goods and services fell 0.1 percent in January.
