Imaging plates (IP) were fabricated by using BaFBr:Eu

2+

, Na

+

phosphor powders which had been prepared by using a solid phase reaction at 950

C in a hydrogen atmosphere. The photo- stimulated luminescence (PSL) emission from the imaging plates occurred in the range of 360 ∼ 430 nm with a peak at 390 nm. The dose response of the imaging plate was linear within 0.5 mGy ∼ 5 Gy. The PSL intensity of the imaging plate faded to approximately 50 % after 120min at room temperature. The pixel density versus thickness of an aluminium step filter showed good linearity. The spatial resolution of the imaging plate evaluated using a Focal Spot Test Tool was about 1.68lp/mm.
