[Speaking Tips]

■ My phone is the latest model.

■ My phone has gotten dinged up a little, but it still works fine.

■ Most people these days have their phone on them all the time.

4. battery drains/goes dead 배터리가 방전되다

die / dead
(기계가) 꺼지다 / 꺼져 있는
휴대폰 등의 휴대 기기가 배터리가 방전되어 꺼졌다는 말을 영어로는 die라고 표현한다. 기기가 꺼져 있는 상태를 지칭할 때는 dead를 쓰는 경우가 많다.
My phone died on my way here.
(여기 오는 길에 내 전화기가 꺼졌어.)
I couldn't do anything because my phone was dead.
(전화기가 꺼져 있어서 아무것도 할 수가 없었다.)
