Mode Matching of Type II SPDC Polarization Entangled Photon Pairs by Using a Digital Camera

A pair of orthogonally polarized photons(extraordinary & ordinary photons) generated in type-II SPDC for experiments on quantum entanglements, including violations of Bell’s inequality, must be matched in both the spatial mode and the temporal mode. A compensating birefringent crystal is used to mode match a polarization entangled photon pair generated by using type-II SPDC. We identified the spatial mode matching of twin beams by using a digital camera.
