Summary: This document contains a detailed list of gifts accepted in aid of operational programmes since September 2013, not including funds received for technical cooperation activities.

1. At its 151st Session (March 1962), the Governing Body authorized the Director-General to accept gifts in money or in kind made by governments, governmental or non-governmental organizations or private persons in aid of the ILO operational programmes, at his discretion and subject to the condition that the gifts should not involve any financial liability for the Members of the Organization. These general powers were given to the Director-General in extension of the authority granted by the Governing Body at its 130th Session (November 1955) and confirmed at its 138th Session (February–March 1958). At its 251st Session (November 1991), the Governing Body authorized the Director-General to accept gifts in money or in kind made by governments, governmental or non-governmental organizations or private persons, at his discretion, provided that they did not involve any financial liability for the Members of the Organization and provided that details of such gifts were reported periodically to the Governing Body.

2. Details of gifts accepted by the Director-General were last communicated to the Governing Body in November 2013.

Gifts in aid of operational programmes

Building on Trade Union Rights and Labour Standards for Productivity Improvement in Africa, held in Arusha, Republic of Tanzania from 2 to 6 December 2013 and Kigali, Rwanda from 17 to 21 November 2014.

Messe Düsseldorf GmbH €20,000 ($23,529)

January 2015 For the biannual international conference “Implementing Global Occupational Safety and Health Standards” jointly organized by the ILO, Messe Düsseldorf and the German Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health (BASI), to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, in October 2015.

Government of France €35,000

($43,370)

December 2014 To support the costs of the campaign for the promotion of the ILO activities in France.

Government of Trinidad and Tobago TTD1,080,875

($170,322) Between September 2013 and August 2015 Contribution towards the rental cost of the ILO Office in Port of Spain.

Government of Germany Two contributions of €62,000

($162,345) January 2014 and January 2015 To defray the operating costs of the ILO Office in Berlin.

Government of France €212,250

March 2014 and April 2015 To defray the operating costs of the ILO Office in Paris.

The following ILO offices operate from premises provided rent free by the host countries: Abuja (Nigeria), Ankara (Turkey), Beirut (Lebanon), Budapest (Hungary), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Kuwait City (Kuwait), Lisbon (Portugal), Madrid (Spain), Montevideo (Uruguay) for the use of CINTERFOR, Rome (Italy) and Yaoundé (Cameroon). The office accommodation of the following national coordinators has also been provided free of charge by the host countries: Belgrade (Serbia), Chisinau (Republic of Moldova), Kiev (Ukraine), Minsk (Belarus), and Skopje (the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). The Government of Nigeria provided residential accommodation for the Director of the ILO Office in Abuja.

In addition, a number of plaques and decorative objects have been donated to the Office.
