Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the CMI implants (EB, IS, IT implants) through the short-term retro- spective study for the clinical success rate.

Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis of dental chart of patients who were performed a implant therapy using CMI implants (EB, IS, IT) at Seoul National university Bundang Hospital during the period from October 2008 to May 2010 was carried out. On the dental recording charts, there were included in as the following; gender, age, with or without smoking or drinking, with or without the generalized diseases, the lengths, types, and diameters of implants, healing period before loading, types of supra prosthesis, intra, post operative complications. We have done our survey with the clinical and radiolographical examinations. The success and survival rate of the implants were evaluated.

Results: 54 male and 45 female (251 for implants) were the subjects of this study. And the average age was 53 yr (ranging from 18 yr to 84 yr). The CMI implants installed were EB 148, IS 88, IT 15. The follow-up period was 10.7 months (1~23 mon) on average. The initial and secondary stability (ISQ) were 66.7, 74.2 respectively. Failures of 12 implants (11-early osseointegration failures, 1-marginal bone loss over 1.5 mm) were observed. The survival rate and success rate were 95.6, 95.2% respectively. The average maginal bone loss was 0.24 mm 6 months after prosthodontic loading and 0.32 mm 1 year after prosthodontic loading.

Conclusion: We obtained the favorable clinical results of CMI implant systems during the short observation period and confirmed the availability of clinical cases.
