Diwan Conveys Amiri Greetings on Upcoming Eid Al-Adha Occasion
The Amiri Diwan on Sunday conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the people of Kuwait on the upcoming Eid Al-Adha occasion.
According to a Diwan statement, His Highness the Amir also congratulated Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of Eid Al-Adha, praying to Allah all mighty for its happy return with the State of Kuwait and the rest of the world enjoying peace and security – KUNA
Union Denies Connection to ‘ Fishermen Chase’ Video
The Kuwait Fishermen Union said in a statement it has no connection with a video circulating online and showing coastguards chasing amateur fishermen in Doha. The Union said that the violators are a group of boat owners, who were fishing illegally, and the union had warned several times about the changers of the actions that owners of such boats are committing, in continuous violations that affect fish stocks. The statement said the union is keen on safeguarding marine environment and expressed satisfaction about what authorities are doing against violators, adding that the union informs fishermen to comply with Amiri Decree 46/1980, which aims towards sustained growth and production.
The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) had warned in a statement released last June that illegal fishing had grave consequences on biological diversity and sustainability of fish stocks.
“Greedy fishermen who do not abide by fishing laws and regulations were unfairly making gains at the aquaculture program at the KISR Dr. Mohsen Al-Husseini lamented in a press statement on the occasion of International Day for the Fight Against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing. They also encouraged others to violate law, he said, adding that such practices negatively impact ecosystem and marine life due to the fishing of young fish shrimps and other marine, especially in the protected areas – Kuwait Times
Pilgirms’ Passports “ Bedoun” are Temporary Custody at Kuwaiti Hajj Campaigns
Al-Qabas knew that Hajj campaigns didn’t submit travel passports to pilgrims “ Bedoun” prior to heading from Jedda airport to the Holly areas.
Informed sources mentioned that Saudi authorities recommended submitting the passport to the pilgrims after leaving the Holly lands and to be kept in custody.
Meanwhile, the Consultant at Saudi Royal Diwan, a member of senior scholars, Sheikh Dr. Saad Al-Shethry lauded Kuwait Hajj pilgrimage and described it as a role model in serving pilgrims – Al-Qabas

Kuwaiti Females Are Longer in Life and More in Number than Males
New statistics for the Public Authority for Civil Information indicated that population pyramid for Kuwaitis starts with a wide base and then gradually diminishes because number of citizens under the age of 15 yrs old is more than other age groups.
Statistics issued by the end of last June indicated that the number of Kuwaitis under the age of 4 yrs old is 166 thousand, including 84.5 thousand males and 81.5 thousand females, however, the number of those at the age group from 5 yrs old and 9 yrs old is similar to the previous age group.
It indicated that the number of Kuwaitis at the age group from 10 yrs old to 14 yrs old reached 155.5 thousand including 79 thousand males and 76.5 thousand females.
The higher the age group the lower the numbers of the population as the number of citizens whose age group between 15 and 19 yrs old reached nearly 134.5 thousand including 68.5 thousand males and 66 thousand females.
Statistics further revealed that the number of citizens who are in the age group between 25 and 29 yrs old reached nearly 114 thousand.
According to statistics, the number of Kuwaitis at the age group from 35 to 39 reached 86.5 thousand including 41 thousand males and the remaining are females, whereas those who are in the age group from 40 till 44 yrs old reached 75.3 thousand including 35 thousand males and the remaining are females – Al-Qabas

The price of Kuwaiti oil went up 74 cents to reach $ 69.77 per barrel (pb) on Friday, compared to
$ 69.03 pb on Thursday, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) said on Saturday.
Globally, oil prices rose, but ended the week down because of concerns over growing US crude supplies and expectations that trade disputes and slowing world economic growth will negatively affect demand for oil – KUNA
Issuance of the Decree of Appointment of Capital Market Authority Commissioners
The Amiri Decre of Forming Capital Market Authority Commissioners is issued. The decree indicated that the new council shall start its works starting from the 2nd of September 2018.
Moreover, the decree with the number 235/2018 sets forth that “after reviewing the law No. 7/2010 regarding the Capital Markets Authority and regulation of securities, modified by law No.
108/2014 and the Decree No. 216/2014 of forming Capital Market Authority Council, and based on proposal from Minister of Trade and Industry, and upon having the approval of the Cabinet, the following is stated:
Capital Market Authority Council shall be formed as follows: Ahmad Abdul Rahman Al-Mehlem, chief, and Abdul Aziz Fahad Al-Maroon, Khalifa Abdullah Al-Ajeel and Abdul Mohsen Hassan Al-Mezaid members of the council.
The Minister of Trade and Industry should implement this decree, which shall be enforceable starting from the 2nd of September 2018 – Al-Qabas
S & P and Moody’s Minimize Rating of Turkey
Standard and Poor’s Agencies and Moody’s minimized their rating of Turkey. S & P minimized its credit rating of he long-term foreign currency in Turkey from the level ‘ BB-‘ to the level ‘ B+’
with a stable future outlook.
It clarified that in case the government of Turkey put suitable economic modification programs ,implement them successfully, and managed successfully to control the problem of inflation and payment balance, its credit rating could be optimized.
Meanwhile, Moody’s for credit rating minimized Turkey from BA2 to BA3 with changing the future outlook from stable into negative – Al-Qabas

Bahraini PM Congratulates His Highness Crown Prince on Eid Al-Adha
His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a phone call from Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa on Sunday, congratulating His Highness on Eid Al-Adha.
Prince Khalifa wished His Highness, Sheikh Nawaf a long and healthy life and for Kuwait further development and security.

Kuwait Welcomed Back to Asian Games with OCA Warning
Kuwait was warned by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) yesterday to stop its world record of government interference in sport or face being exiled for a third time. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) this week provisionally lifted its ban on Kuwait, allowing the state’s athletes to march under their own flag at yesterday’s Asian Games opening ceremony in Jakarta.
