Domestic Affairs Ambulances Suspicious Deal

Ministry of Health declared that it didn’t receive the ambulances it contracted to supply due to some notes in their specifications.

An informed source requested the need to hold accountable those responsible for holding suspicious deals that cause losses to the public funds.

Al-Jareeda newspaper revealed yesterday a suspicious deal at the Ministry of Health regarding

“contracting to supply tens of ambulances, which are found to be not conforming to the specifications and are not used for years despite their availability at the warehouses of the Ministry of Health”.

An informed source told Al-Rai newspaper that the deal was signed directly ex-Minister of Health, Dr. Gamal Al-Harbi on 24th of April 2017 with the value of KWD 3 million and 720 thousand, and it includes supplying 79 ambulances.

The source noted that the ex-Minister, Dr. Gamal Al-Harbi was keen on completing the deal by direct order, and he supervised this file since he was an assistant undersecretary for medical services sector concerned with nursing and medical emergencies before he became a minister”

KWD 160 Million is First Quarter Expenditures of the Current Annual Plan

The General Secretary for the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, Dr. Khaled Mahdi affirmed that report of the first quarter of the current annual development plan 2018/2019 is characterized by some positive aspects in comparison to the first quarter of the previous year 2017/2018, noting that expenditures reached KWD 160 million, which is superior to expenditures of the previous year. Mahdi further confirmed that the previous year was the best in terms of expenditures in comparison to the previous annual plans as it achieved 86% of expenditures.

“It is anticipated that the present year 18/19 shall be superior to the previous year as the results of the first quarter show progress in many aspects. Expenditures of the first quarter reached KWD 159.9 million with expenditures percentage 3.6%, which is superior to the total expenditures of the first quarter of the previous year with 3.5% (a total of KWD105.4 million).

Percentage of projects in the implementation phase became 50% whereas it was 48% in the implementation phase of the previous year”, said Mahdi

Mahdi pointed out that some 322 obstacles were surmounted in an auspicious start to the year.

Pinpointing the oil industry as the sector with the most impressive performance, he revealed that total spending there spiked by 17.35% over the last month.

project worth KD 112 million (369 million) and a KD 5.7 million ($ 18.8 million) olefins project as examples.

Meanwhile, for the first time ever, nine development projects are currently ahead of schedule in a testament to the tangible progress Kuwait has made towards its national development goals, Mahdi explained.

He also stated that healthcare, agriculture and education sectors have also witnessed meteoric growth, in addition to an increase of 33.5% in professional development – Al-Rai

Kuwait Civil Service Commission Dismisses 3140 Expat Civil Servants

Chief of CSC Ahmed Al-Jassar stated that 15 jobs were determined for replacement and work contracts for 3140 expat civil servants serving in the public sector were cancelled.

“In view of Kuwait’s replacement and Kuwaitization of government jobs at ministries and government departments, and in view of CSC decision No. 11/2017 regarding the rules and regulations of Kuwaitization of government jobs, 15 job categories were determined, which represent types of professions or jobs included at approved jobs rating at CSC after excluding medical and health job categories”, said Al-Jassar.

Number of the non-Kuwaiti civil servants, subject to the commission resolution, amounted to 44,572, without deducting the dismissed ones. These serve in 46 government sectors, including 25,948 in teaching and training, 6,474 in services, 3,537 in law and Islamic affairs, 2,876 in engineering and 1,539 in social and educational services as well as sports.

Moreover, 1,221 perform financial, economic and commercial jobs, 1,130 in the sector of administrative back-up, 483 in information systems and technology, 377 in manual work, 308 in literature, media and public relations, 221 in forensics, 205 in agriculture and livestock, 212 in sciences, 37 in administrative development and statistics and five in marine tasks- Al-Rai Deputy Amir Instructs Government to Bring Citizens Back Home From Abroad – Minister

His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah instructed government Saturday to bring back all citizens whose flights on Wataniya Airways were cancelled, a minister said.

Jenan Bushehri, Minister of State for Housing and Minister of State for Services, said His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah instructed coordination between the Foreign Ministry and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to facilitate return of citizens back to Kuwait.

Hajj Flights from Jeddah, Taif will Arrive Via Terminal 1- Kuwait Airways

Kuwait Airways said on Monday that all Hajj flights from Jeddah, Taif and Madinah will arrive via Kuwait’s International Airport (T1).

Kuwait Airways affirmed on its official Twitter account that arrival of passengers coming from pilgrimage trips for today and tomorrow only continues through the new terminal (T4).

Flights departing to and from Dubai continue through the new T4, it added. Kuwait Airways was established in 1953 as a private company under the name of Kuwait National Airlines Limited. Economy Kuwait’s Oil Price up 91 Cents to USD 73.45 pb

Price of Kuwait’s crude oil went up 91 cents yesterday (Friday) reaching $ 73.45 pb, compared with $ 72.54 pb the day before, according to KPC on Saturday –KUNA

AUB: Two Investment Banks Evaluating KFH Fair Exchange Rate

Ahli United Bank (AUB) said Sunday that two investment banks are responsible for monitoring progress of subsequent developments in signing a Memorandum of Understanding and Non- Disclosure Agreement with Kuwait Finance House (KFH).

The two banks, HSBC and Credit Suisse, will agree with the exchange rate of shares, AUB said in a bulletin on Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE).

These steps are necessary to obtain regulatory approvals in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait and other relevant countries.

AUB was established in 2000 and was listed on the KSE in 2006 with an authorized capital of

$ 2.5 billion and is licensed as a retail bank by the Central Bank of Bahrain – KUNA
