To help international students acclimatize, psychological counselors fluent in foreign languages conduct counseling, especially
"mind care psychological tests" to maintain a healthy mind and conduct in-depth counseling.

To help international students adapt, we support the formation of
"international student autonomous organizations" and establish exchange programs to help international students, especially For the prevention of scams such as voice phishing.
A PR team member promotes crime prevention and campaigns to international students from his/her country (Dongjak Police Station).
Education on how to prevent and cope with crime damage while studying in Korea (Dongjak Police Station).
Based on the results of the diagnosis of student academic success ability, we provide personalized learning capability reinforcement programs.

The level of Soongsil 7 major learning competencies (cognition, motivation, learning behavior)of foreign students is measured with the Learning Competency Diagnostic Tool (LCT-CMB), and individual results are provided along with commentary reports.
In addition, personalized learning competency reinforcement program is provided for each result.

Three to six foreign undergraduate students form a study team with one Korean or senior international undergraduate student or graduate student to conduct tutoring and mentoring activities.

Foreign nationals qualify who have completed all the curricula of elementary and secondary schools (middle school and high school) or their equivalents, in Korea or overseas, AND who have completed at least two academic years of university education (and, 66 credit- hours or more), in Korea or overseas.
※ Students and enrolled students(including prospective grauates) of our school(Soongsil University) are NOT eligible to apply for our school.
※ If a person who meets the requirements for transfer application applies for new admissions, he/she can apply for the new admissions as a higher education
* Students are not eligible to apply for transfer who have attended private colleges or universities that are not authorized by educational authorities or whose diplomas do not bear degree numbers.
In these cases, admissions will be canceled even after they are admitted and enrolled.
* In the case of two-year (or three-year) colleges, only those who have acquired a college degree can apply for transfer. Prospective graduates are also eligible.
*Graduates from schools that are officially regulated by educational authorities of the applicant’s government are only eligible to apply. In other words, graduates from home-schools, life-long education programs, continuing education programs, senior-citizen education programs, or Internet-based education programs are NOT eligible.
* Students with certificates of the qualifying exam for high school diploma in Korea or other overseas qualifying exams (such as GED of the United States and Canada and Self-Taught Higher Education Examinations of China) are not eligible to apply for transfer.

Evaluation procedures
▶ All departments and majors except for Film Arts: The evaluation is exclusively based on all the documents submitted by the applicant, including a personal statement (or a letter of self-introduction) and a language proficiency score(s).
▶ Film Arts: The evaluation consists of 40% of document appraisal, including a personal statement, and 60% of interview test. Details on the interview test
will be notified at admission.ssu.ac.kr
* Details related to evaluation procedures will not be made public.
* Should submitted documents turn out to be false or incomplete, then the applicant will be excluded from the evaluation process.
* Students who are from such countries as Japan and the Philippines, where a new academic year starts one month later, may be given one-month break in the estimation of duration of education.
* Applicants for transfer to our university should apply after checking whether they have completed the relevant school year at the previous university before applying.

Remarks on application submission
a. All the documents must be submitted in full by the designated time.
b. If there is a problem with the data provided, submitted documents turn out to be false or incomplete, or the emergency contact person provided cannot be reached in an emergency situation, then the applicant may be excluded from the assessment process, in which case the applicant is solely responsible for the disadvantage.
c. Should there be a mismatch between names on different documents, the applicant must submit verification documents issued by his or her government.
d. Language proficiency test certificates should be issued within the last two years, as of the first day of the submission schedule.
e. Documents in languages other than Korean or English must be notary-certified in Korean or in English.
The certificates related to academic records must be notarized within 24 months,
other documents must be notarized within 12 months as of the last day of the submission schedule.
f. After the names of students to be admitted are announced, the University will begin the authentication process based on Agreement on Verification completed by the students. In case there is no reply from the student’s former school within two months after the start of class, the student is supposed to arrange the authentication process. Should there be no reply from the school after all, the admission may be canceled even after the start of class.
g. The students who have applied as prospective students must submit a certificate of graduation and transcripts of academic records reflecting the last semester within the designated time, a failure of which may result in cancelation of admission.
h. If you submit your documents by postal service (i.e., regular mail), please confirm their arrival by calling at (02) 820-0050~4.
i. Once documents are submitted, they will not be returned to applicants. If the University requests supplementary documents for verification that are not specified in this Guide, students must submit them.
