Domestic Affairs 4 Procedures to Pay Downpours’ Damages

Yesterday, the Cabinet held its meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak. The Cabinet didn’t discuss the resignation of Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Municipality Affairs, Engineer Hossam Al-Roumi or the resignation of Oil Minister, and Minister of Electricity and Water, Eng. Bakheet Al-Rashidi.

Informed sources said in press statements to Al-Anbaa that the Cabinet is not

competent to accept or reject resignation of any of the Ministers, who attended the meeting of the Cabinet yesterday.

Sources lauded the efforts of Compensations’ Committee, chaired by Minister of Social Affairs, and State Minister for Economic Affairs, Hind Al-Sabeeh, which completed a great number of transactions from those who deserve compensations due to damage of parts of their houses and their furniture.

Sources indicated that the procedures required applicable after receiving transactions include:

 Verifying applications for damages including physical examination for the harmed premises.

 Estimation of the damages’ amount by the competent committee and in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.

 Estimation of the compensation amount by the competent committee and in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.

 Presenting the required budget on the Cabinet for approval, and then payment if possible.

 Or presenting to the National Assembly to get an additional approval. Al-Anbaa Operation of Shaikh Jaber Causeway Next February

Deputy General Manager of the Public Authority for Roads and Land, Eng. Suha Ashknani confirmed that inauguration of Shaikh Jaber Al-Ahmad shall be next February in coincidence with the National Day of Kuwait.

She further added that the percentage of project progress is more than 99%, and she remarked that this project is considered a one of the development and vital projects. She further indicated that the project shall be operational in coordination with the MPW and concerned authorities. Al-Anbaa

French – Kuwaiti Parliamentary Friendship Committee in Kuwait on Official Visit Parliamentary financial and economic committee chaired by MP Salah Khorshid met yesterday at the office of the committee with Chairman of French-Kuwaiti Friendship group in the French Senate, Jane Marry Bukeil and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of visiting Kuwait.

Khorshid said in a press statement that the meeting discussed several issues of concern to the two states due to the distinguished relations connecting Kuwait with the friendly republic of France, and he remarked that the discussions included development of economic and commercial relations between them.

Khorshid clarified that he presented the vision of HH the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed to Kuwait (2020 – 2035) as well as the huge investments that might be achieved in France or Kuwait. He further indicated that the Committee asked the French side to increase investments from both sides.

Also, he mentioned that Kuwait has investments with the value of KWD 10 billion in France, which could reach tens of billions, especially that France is a big country with many promising investment opportunities.

He also clarified during the meeting that Kuwait shall provide many investment, housing and infrastructure projects, and there are many huge French corporations, which could undertake such works. He lauded the role of Investment Promotion Authority for the privileges included in the new law. “It is allowed for French companies to enter into the Kuwaiti market with 100% French capital or part of the capital. The most important thing is technology transfer and easy exit of capital as set forth by the FDI”. Al-Anbaa

Economy Oil Prices Up 5% after US-China Agreement

Oil prices rose 5% yesterday after the US and China agreed not to impose any new custom duties for the period of 90 days prior to the meeting of OPEC this week, which is expected to result in supply minimization.

The price of WTI rose to $ 53.41 pb with an increase of $ 2.48 pb or 4.9% Also, the price of Brent Crude rose $ 2.89, 4.9% to $ 62.35 pb.

Both China and uSA agreed at the G20 meeting in Argentina not to impose additional custom fees for the period of 90 days at least while both sides make mutual talks. Al-Jareeda

Kuwaiti Oil Price up $ 2.45 to $ 60.52 pb

The price of Kuwait's crude oil went up USD 2.45 to stand at USD 60.52 per barrel (pb) on Monday compared to USD 58.07 pb last Friday, said Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) on Tuesday.

In the global markets, oil prices yesterday rose nearly four percent after the 90-days truce agreement on the trade dispute between US-China and expectations that OPEC will cut supplies.

Meanwhile, Brent crude went up USD 2.23 to settle at USD 61.69 pb, as well as the West intermediate crude with an increase of USD 2.02 to settle at 52.95 pb. KUNA

USD Stable at KD 0.303

The exchange rates of the US Dollar and the Euro were stable at KD 0.303 and KD 0.345 respectively, said the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) Tuesday.

In its daily bulletin, the CBK indicated that the exchange rate of the British Pound Sterling went down to KD 0.387, whereas the Swiss Franc went up to KD 0.305 The Japanese Yen remained unchanged at KD 0.002. KUNA

Kuwait Plane Airlifts Houthis from Sanaa to Stockholm – Deputy FM

A delegation from the Houthi rebels will board at Kuwaiti plane from Sanaa to Stockholm tomorrow Tuesday to participate in UN-Sponsored Yemen talks in Sweden, Kuwait Deputy Foreign Minister, Khaled Al-Jarallah said Monday.

Kuwait Ambassador to Yemen will accompany the Houthi delegation, noted Al-Jarallah, who was speaking to reporters at a reception held by the Embassy of Japan to mark the Asian country’s national day.

Earlier today, visiting Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom touted the significant role played by Kuwait in resolving all regional causes, saying the world looks forward to Kuwait’s relevant efforts.

“Kuwait already plays a historic role in the region advocating for peaceful solutions, for dialogue, and contacts, and I think that has become an even more important role as the world looks today and of course surrounded by big and powerful neighbors but still being able to keep up that objective of creating dialogue”, she said to reporters after meeting His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Al-Ghanim Receives Sweden Foreign Minister

Speaker of the National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim received in his office yesterday Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden, Margho Walstrom and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of her visit to the country.

During the meeting, both sides discussed cooperation relations between both friendly countries and means of its enhancement and development in all fields.

Moreover, he discussed a number of issues, the most important of them is Yemen’s issue and the arrangements related to the talks that shall take place in Sweden regarding the Yemen crisis.

German Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Carl Bergner affirmed that the short visit of the German delegation, which is concerned with the humanitarian aids aims to enhance mutual cooperation on the level of humanitarian work, and also as a convenient opportunity for enhancing consultation between the two countries, especially that his country shall start its non- permanent membership at the UN starting from the coming January.

On his part, manager of humanitarian aids in German MOFA, Tomas Tsanaizen that Germany is one of the greatest donating countries in the field of development and humanitarian aids. He further stated that Germany occupies the second position worldwide after the USA. He clarified that German contributions in the field of human donations rose from 300 thousand euros to 1.6

Our Relations with Kuwait is in its Momentum- Saudi Ambassador

Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kuwait, Amir Sultan Ben Saad confirmed that his country is ready to host the coming GCC summit on the 9th of December at the city of Dammam, as it has hosted previously many Islamic, Arab and Gulf summits.

“The Kingdom welcomes leaders and peoples of GCC states, and the results depend on attendees, as we have optimistic outlook”, said the Ambassador.

The Ambassador described that Kuwaiti-Saudi relations are in their momentum and that there are no problems but some simple issues that shall be settled soon. He clarified that the delegations that visited Kuwait during the last period only intended to accelerate previous files and agreements”. Al-Seyassa.
