스웨덴 출싞의 언어학자·세계적읶 여성 생태홖경운동가. 리틀 티베트'로 불리는 라다크의 젂통사회가 서구문명에 의해 파괴되는 과정을 목격하고 실첚적 생태 홖경운동가로 변싞하였다. '에콜로지와 문화를 위핚 국제협회(ISEC)' 대표로 반 세계화·반개발·탈중심화를 위핚 국제 연 대운동을 펼치고 있다.

• In 1994 the Rural Studio completed its first building

• Alberta and Shepard Bryant, a couple in their 70s, had been raising three grandchildren in a dilapidated shack

• The family‟s needs were basic: indoor plumbing, a septic tank, and

comfortable places to sleep (each bedroom needed to accommodate both a bed and a desk).

• What Mockbee and the students created for them is an inventive, individually tailored home that is diametrically opposed to typical institutionally generated low-income housing.

• Located on a former dairy farm to

„defray construction costs,‟ the Yancey Chapel resides „on a bluff from which the land spills thirty- feet to an open field and

wetlands.‟

• The metal roof is made from gathered rusted tin shingles from the county.
